Rules
Do not open new trades or increase existing ones within 3 minutes before or after high-impact economic releases or official speeches, as this behavior may be considered excessive risk-taking.
Only self-developed EAs are permitted. The use of commercial, publicly available, or third-party-created automated trading tools is strictly prohibited.
Internal copying between your own AudaCity accounts is allowed. Copying from third-party accounts (other traders, other firms, signal providers) is not permitted.
- High-Frequency Trading (HFT)
- Hedging or Group Hedging Across Multiple Accounts
- Martingale Trading
- Dollar Cost Averaging
The formula for calculation of the Consistency Score is: [1 - (most profitable trading day)/(combined profit on all profitable days)]*100:
- If the score is above 70 then the trader is considered as consistent.
- If the score lies between 50 - 70 then the risk team will manually review the account and decide whether the trader should continue trading until the score becomes above 70 or pass them.
- If the score is less than 50, then the trader shall continue trading the account until the score reaches above 50 and then the risk team can take a call.

The company and what “funded” means here
Legal structure and trading environment
Audacity Capital is one of the older names in online proprietary trading. Its official material dates the business to 2012, names Karim Yousfi as CEO and identifies AudaCity Global LTD, registered in the Union of Comoros under number 15850 and licence L15850/WL, as the provider of the programmes. The terms also list a London office, while the website names additional payment entities. This is not presented as a broker account for a retail client: the contract describes the trader as an independent contractor, responsible for their own taxes, and says Audacity retains discretion over whether an order is executed externally, held or rejected.
That distinction matters because Audacity's own pages are inconsistent about the trading environment. The Ability evaluations are explicitly simulated. The general help centre says the subsequent Live phase uses live funds, and the FTP terms describe a live MT5 environment. However, the current FTP landing-page FAQ says the instant-funded account is simulated and only mirrors live conditions. Audacity also says it uses confidential commercial liquidity providers rather than an in-house retail broker, so the old claim that it operates its own brokerage is unsupported. Payouts can still be real, but a buyer who needs certainty about live execution should obtain written confirmation for the exact programme and platform before paying.
Programme structure
There are three paid routes. Ability Challenge is a two-stage evaluation, Ability One is a single-stage evaluation, and FTP gives immediate access without a qualifying evaluation. All have unlimited completion time and a one-off fee rather than a subscription. The free trial and monthly competition are separate products: the trial is practice only and never converts into funding, while competition winners receive an evaluation or other funded opportunity rather than withdrawable competition profits.
The three routes to an account
Ability Challenge: more room, two phases
Ability Challenge asks for 10% in the Challenge and 5% in Verification, with at least four trading days in each stage. Its main attraction is the relatively wide loss allowance in phase one: the daily limit is 7.5% and the overall floor 15%, narrowing to 5% and 10% in Verification and Live. There is no minimum-day requirement after funding.
Both loss limits are static during the day. At rollover, Audacity takes the higher of balance or equity and fixes that day's daily-loss floor. Intraday profits do not lift it, but floating profit carried through rollover can produce a higher reference and therefore a tighter cash floor if the trade reverses. Maximum drawdown is fixed from the initial balance and includes open loss, commissions and swaps. Touching the threshold is a breach, not simply a warning.
The programme is marketed with account sizes up to $200,000, although one comparison on the same website says $240,000. The help centre and current purchase ladder support $200,000, so the larger figure should not be assumed without confirmation.
Ability One: shorter evaluation, tighter margin for error
Ability One removes Verification but keeps a 10% target and requires at least three trading days. Its daily limit is 3%, recalculated at rollover from the higher of balance or equity and then held static for the session. Its 6% maximum drawdown remains anchored to the starting balance. This is structurally simpler than the two-step route, but the target is larger than the entire loss buffer, so position sizing matters more.
The help centre and live product selector offer Ability One from $5,000 to $100,000. Its dedicated landing page repeatedly advertises up to $200,000 and even shows a $200,000 option inside a shared widget. That page conflicts with the actual programme-specific list; treat $100,000 as the documented purchasable ceiling unless checkout shows otherwise.
FTP: immediate access, but payout by milestones
FTP has no evaluation to pass, but “instant” does not mean profits are immediately withdrawable. A trader must complete at least five trading days, at least three of them profitable, and reach a 10% profit milestone. When the milestone is reached, trading must stop while the risk team reviews the account, normally for one to three working days. Approved profit is moved to the dashboard wallet and a new account at double the previous size is issued.
FTP combines a 10% static lifetime floor with a demanding 5% daily trailing floor. The help centre defines the latter from the highest equity recorded at any moment during the day: if a $10,000 account reaches $10,400, its daily floor rises to $9,880 and does not move back down before the server reset. Open profit can therefore tighten the available room even when it was never realised. The overall 10% floor stays tied to initial capital.
Profit share depends on starting size, scaling stage and whether the 10% milestone took less or more than 30 days. It begins at 50% or 60% on the lower stages and can reach 80% at higher stages. The exact stage ladder differs for $5K, $10K, $25K and $50K accounts, so the dashboard schedule matters more than the headline “up to 80%”. FTP is commission-free and swap-free according to its help-centre entries. Those four sizes are also the current documented range; a homepage reference to a $60,000 FTP account appears stale.
Withdrawals, refunds and scaling
Payout timing, fees and verification
Ability One and Ability Challenge permit the first request 14 days after the first trade in the funded phase, then on a bi-weekly cycle. Their starting share is 75%; producing at least 10% within 30 days raises it to 85%, while the route to 90% requires two account doublings and continued performance above 10%. This is not the “same-day payout” claimed by the shared pricing widget.
The evaluation fee is returned with the first qualifying payout only if that payout's profit exceeds the fee and the account remains compliant. A trader below that amount can withdraw their normal 75% share without the refund or keep trading until both are available. FTP fees are not refundable.
Audacity states a $20 minimum withdrawal. KYC is required before a profit withdrawal and the help centre asks for government ID plus a selfie holding it; its expected review is two to three working days. Bank transfer, PayPal, USDC on Ethereum and Rise are listed as withdrawal methods. Another help entry says the full account and payment review normally takes three to five business days, even though the withdrawal-method article says up to two or three. These are processing estimates, not guaranteed delivery times.
Scaling and allocation limits
Ability accounts scale on a three-month review cycle after at least 2.5% profit in each of three consecutive months and at least one approved withdrawal. Each successful review doubles the balance. FTP doubles at every approved 10% milestone instead. Audacity markets a $2 million ceiling, yet its visual calculator runs to $2.56 million and the help centre says “$2M+”. The conservative reading is $2 million until Audacity confirms a larger contractual cap.
The allocation rules are also not perfectly aligned. Two help-centre entries cap each programme at $200,000 and allow the three programmes to run simultaneously. A separate FTP article allows existing and new FTP accounts up to a combined $240,000. Accounts cannot be merged, and the current documentation does not resolve which FTP ceiling prevails.
Rules that materially affect a strategy
News, holding periods and execution
Positions may remain open overnight and over the weekend. News trading is permitted in principle, but all programmes prohibit opening, closing or adding to a position from three minutes before until three minutes after high-impact releases or official speeches. A take-profit or stop-loss triggered inside the window also counts as a prohibited close. Every FOMC event is treated as major regardless of its calendar rating.
The FTP contract still says exposure must be cleared 30 minutes before major events. That directly conflicts with the current help-centre rule of a six-minute restricted window. Because either interpretation can affect payout eligibility, FTP news traders should obtain the applicable rule in writing.
Scalping is allowed, but a trade held for two minutes or less is classified as tick scalping and may trigger action by the risk team. Individual positions are capped at 10 standard lots, although multiple positions are possible. The competition uses different limits: five lots per trade and no more than five open positions.
Automation, copying and network access
Only personally developed EAs are permitted. Commercial bots, public tools, third-party algorithms, HFT and automated multi-trade activity are prohibited. A VPS is allowed when used for a compliant EA and without server abuse. VPN use is generally prohibited; Audacity may approve it only after the trader provides a valid reason. Changing Wi-Fi networks is allowed, but location, device and trading patterns remain subject to monitoring.
Copying between the trader's own Audacity accounts is allowed. One help entry also permits copying from an external account owned by the same trader, while third-party accounts, signal providers and account-management services are forbidden. Because the dedicated product pages shorten this to “between your own accounts”, external-to-Audacity copying is another point worth confirming before use.
Prohibited risk patterns
Audacity's prohibited-practices list is broader than the short checklist on the firm card. It bans latency and price-feed arbitrage, HFT, tick scalping, hedging within one account or across coordinated accounts, martingale, averaging down and DCA, grid trading, news straddles, exploiting stale prices or platform vulnerabilities, one-sided mechanical betting without analysis, third-party account management, third-party EAs, copied signals, unattended mass automation and disproportionately large positions.
No stop-loss is mandatory under the trading-guideline FAQ, although the Code of Conduct says all trades “should” include one. A missing stop is therefore not described as an automatic breach, but reckless exposure can still be treated as gambling or irresponsible trading. The terms give the risk team broad discretion to close an account, deny profits or remove a trader for excessive risk, manipulation or conduct it considers negligent.
Consistency: the largest documentation conflict
The standard trading-guideline article says there is no consistency rule. The Ability and FTP sales pages say the same. A second help-centre entry initially says the rule applies only to free competition accounts, but then says the score is measured across FTP and every Ability stage and calls it crucial to both paid programmes. The general terms separately reserve a consistency review of trade duration and lot size.
Where the score is used, the formula is 1 - largest profitable day / combined profit from all profitable days, multiplied by 100. Above 70 is considered consistent; 50–70 can trigger manual review, and below 50 requires more trading before a decision. For the monthly competition, consistency is unquestionably part of eligibility, although the competition page itself alternates between a four-day and five-day minimum. Paid-account buyers should not assume the score is irrelevant merely because the marketing table says “none”; written clarification is sensible if one large day forms most of the target.
Access, platforms and account administration
Platforms, markets and eligibility
Audacity currently supports MT5 and DXtrade, not MT4. DXtrade has a browser terminal. Audacity's general help entry says an MT5 web terminal is currently unavailable, while the homepage and support page claim that one is available and link to a download page; the platform page calls its web version “limited”. DXtrade is therefore the clearer browser-based choice. It is also the route explicitly offered to US residents; the restricted-country list otherwise names Syria, Iran, North Korea and Venezuela, and all participants must be at least 18. Leverage varies materially by programme and asset: Ability uses 1:100 for forex and indices, 1:50 for metals, 1:25 for energy and 1:2 for crypto, while FTP uses 1:30 for forex, metals and indices, 1:60 for energy and 1:2 for crypto.
The help centre describes forex as spot trading and commodities and indices as CFDs. The live instrument list changes, so it is safer to verify the required symbol and its spread in the platform than rely on a static marketing list.
KYC, inactivity and disputes
The KYC documentation is inconsistent about timing. The help centre says verification is required only at the first withdrawal, but the AML policy says all applicants must pass KYC before participating. US access and the required documents may also differ by platform, so eligibility should be checked before purchase rather than after reaching a payout.
Inactivity is another unresolved conflict. The help centre gives paid accounts six months without a trade and free trials 30 days. The free-trial landing page instead says the trial has no fixed expiry and closes after six inactive months. The binding terms say funded accounts terminate after only one consecutive month without activity. The shortest stated period—one month—is the safe operating assumption.
Accounts that breach a rule are not reset; a new evaluation or account must be purchased. Trading must also stop during payout and scaling review. Audacity accepts company registration and company payouts when the trader personally owns the entity and supplies ownership documents. Complaints can be submitted in writing; the published process promises acknowledgment within two business days and a final response normally within 15, extendable to 35 business days. The terms also prohibit reputation-damaging language “without a valid basis” and contemplate termination or legal action, a broad clause worth knowing before a public dispute. Audacity separately warns about clone domains and says payments and credentials should pass only through its official site and trader dashboard.
Free trial and monthly competition
The free trial provides simulated balances from $5,000 to $200,000 on MT5 or DXtrade, with no payment card, KYC, payout or route to funding. It is useful for checking execution and the interface, but the pages disagree on whether it lasts 30 days, indefinitely while active or closes after six months of inactivity.
The monthly competition is a separate $100,000 simulated MT5 event. Entry is free and prizes are evaluations or other opportunities, not the profit shown on the leaderboard. Its core rules include a 5% daily limit, 10% total limit, manual trading only, a maximum of five concurrent positions, five lots per trade, KYC for winners and activation of an awarded challenge within 30 days. The page repeatedly states four minimum days but later says five, and its FAQ even says manual martingale is allowed while Audacity's main rulebook prohibits martingale. Competition entrants should therefore use the terms shown for the specific monthly edition.
Who Audacity suits
Audacity offers an unusually broad choice: a forgiving two-step evaluation, a faster but tighter one-step route, and immediate FTP access with milestone-based scaling. Static Ability drawdown, unlimited evaluation time, overnight and weekend holding, and a long operating history can work well for patient discretionary traders or developers using their own automation.
The main drawback is not a lack of published detail but disagreement between that detail. Live versus simulated FTP, consistency, news windows, inactivity, allocation, KYC timing, trial duration and several marketing widgets all conflict with another official source. The firm best suits a trader willing to preserve written confirmation of the rules that matter to their strategy. It is a poor fit for third-party EA users, external signal copiers, sub-two-minute scalpers, hedgers, martingale/DCA traders or anyone whose payout plan depends on an ambiguous rule being interpreted generously.
