Rules

News trading

Evaluation Stage (1 Step, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro)
No restrictions on holding trades during news events. Purposely trading news = account closure.

Master Account (1 Step, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro)
Trades opened/closed within 5 minutes before/after a high-impact (red folder) news event have their FULL profit deducted, UNLESS the trade was executed 5+ hours before the event.
Speech window: 5 min before speech start to 5 min after speech end.

FundingPips Zero
HARD BREACH if any position is opened/closed/held within 10 minutes before/after a high-impact news event on affected currencies.
Speech window: 10 min before speech start to 10 min after speech end.

Labs 247
Evaluation: news trading is allowed on every instrument.
Master: profits may be deducted from trades opened or closed 5 minutes before or after high-impact news affecting the corresponding currency. For high-impact speeches, the window runs from 10 minutes before the speech begins until 10 minutes after it ends. Trades opened at least 5 hours before the event are exempt.

Expert Advisor (EA)

Default rule (third-party EAs): Permitted ONLY when used strictly as a trade or risk manager. Any other use of a third-party EA = denial of evaluation/reward and account closure.

Personal EA Exception

Account-type exceptions

  • 1K Instant Account: third-party EAs and trade copiers permitted (full automation OK).
  • Monthly Competition: ALL EAs prohibited (including personal with proof).
Mandatory stop loss
Weekend positions

Temporary restriction (effective 29 January 2026)
Weekend holds NOT allowed on Master Accounts across 1 Step, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro. All open trades auto-closed at Friday market close (NOT a hard breach on these models).

FundingPips Zero
Weekend holds = HARD BREACH (immediate account closure) on Master Account. All positions must be closed before Friday market close, including crypto.

Evaluation Phases (1 Step, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro)
Weekend holds PERMITTED for all instruments. Crypto positions OK over weekend in evaluation only.

Labs 247
Trading and weekend holding are allowed 24/7 in both Evaluation and Master.

Copy trading

  • Copying trades between your own FundingPips accounts (registered under same individual).
  • Using your FundingPips account as MASTER to copy to external accounts (as slave).

Prohibited

  • Copying between FundingPips accounts of different users.
  • Coordinated trading across master accounts not owned by same individual.
  • Inbound copy trading (external source as master, FundingPips as slave).
  • Third-party account management (immediate termination).
Hedging

  • Server spamming
  • Latency arbitrage
  • Toxic trading flow

  • Opposite account trading
Consistency rule
  • Payout On Demand: no single trading day can account for more than 35% of the total profit
  • Bi-Weekly (Zero): no single trading day can account for more than 15% of the total profit, and the largest lost can't be bigger than the biggest win
  • 1 Step Flex: no consistency rule. If more than 60% of the profit target comes from a single trade idea, the Master account requires a minimum of 4 profitable days (a profitable day closes +0.5% or more of the initial account size)
  • Labs 247: no consistency rule in Evaluation or Master
Inactivity rule

30 consecutive days without completed trades results in hard breach. Applies to all account types including Master accounts.

Scalping
Stacking / Layering (DCA)
Maximum risk limit

There is a limit on simultaneous open lots:

  • $5K–$10K: no limit
  • $25K: 10 lots
  • $50K: 20 lots
  • $100K or more (including merged accounts): maximum 40 lots

Penalties

  • 1st violation: warning
  • 2nd violation: removal of excess profits, reward reduced to 30%, and account closure

2 Step (Funded account only)

Your biggest loss per trade (idea) should not exceed 3% of the account size. Violating this rule is a hard breach and will lead to the closure of your account.

1 Step Flex (Master account only)

No maximum risk per trade idea. A 1% risk guideline applies as a striking system: a warning is recorded each time a trade idea's floating loss reaches 1% of the account size.

  • Warning 1: warning
  • Warning 2: reward split drops by half
  • Warning 3: reward split drops to 20%
  • Warning 4: account breach

Five models, a limited drop, and a tier that turns a Master Account into a job

FundingPips runs everything on simulated capital with real cash rewards, and is explicit that it is not a broker: no deposit, no personal money at risk, and losses capped at what you paid for the evaluation.

The catalogue has changed materially in 2026 — the old 1 Step Model is no longer offered, and so is the 10% Phase 1 target on 2 Step Standard, withdrawn on 24 July 2026. What is on sale now:

1 Step Flex is the loosest evaluation: a single phase with a 12% target, no minimum trading days and no time limit. Rewards are 85% bi-weekly.

2 Step Standard is the flagship: 8% then 5%, minimum 3 trading days, 1:100 forex leverage, and a choice of reward cycle — Weekly 60%, Bi-Weekly 80%, Monthly 100% or On Demand 90%.

2 Step Pro tightens everything: 6% in both phases against a 6% max loss and 3% daily, with only 2 minimum trading days per phase. It pays 80% weekly, available from your first trade on the Master Account.

2 Step Flex offers the most generous limits — 4% daily and 12% maximum loss — with targets of 10% then 6%. Its distinctive feature is that you choose your reward structure at purchase.

FundingPips Zero skips evaluation entirely: live from day one at a 95% split, against the strictest rule set in the catalogue.

FundingPips Labs: a limited drop with its own rulebook

Separate from the five models sits Labs, sold in limited "drops" until they sell out. The current one, Starter Edition, is a $100K 1-Step CFD account on MT5 for $99, capped at 5 per user.

Its numbers are unlike anything else in the range: a 5% target with no minimum trading days, a 1% daily loss limit and a 3% trailing end-of-day max loss. Rewards can be requested every single day at an 85% split.

The withdrawal mechanism is distinctive. The account must be 3% in profit to request, and at 3% every time you request, with each request capped at $1,000 — so at least 2% always stays in the account. Once you reach 3%, you can request into that 3%, meaning the whole balance above your starting equity is eligible.

Two constraints to note: each phase runs on a 6-month window and closes if unfinished, and the 1% daily loss is a hard breach with no resets available. The only way back is buying another unit while the drop is open.

2 Step Flex makes you pick how you get paid, permanently

At checkout you choose between two reward structures that cost exactly the same:

  • 85% split with 1 minimum trading day per phase, or
  • 95% split with 3 profitable days of at least 0.5% each

The choice is locked for the life of the account. Higher split, more work; lower split, faster. There is no changing your mind afterwards.

The Prime Account, and the ×12.5 multiplier

Above the Master Account sits a tier most firms do not have. You reach it by invitation based on performance, or you unlock it yourself after your third reward.

To unlock: your profit after the third reward must reach at least 2% of the Master Account size, and up to 10% of it can be committed. That amount, after the reward split, is multiplied by ×12.5 to set your Prime Account size.

It comes with a personal onboarding call, weekly 1:1 coaching, dedicated WhatsApp support, a public leaderboard, a monthly reward on traded volume, and an 80% daily reward split.

The trading conditions change too: commission is a flat $10 per lot on every instrument except crypto, which uses lot size × price × 0.04%, and leverage runs on a tiered plan reaching 1:2000. It is MT5 only and not available from the US.

The catch is worth stating plainly: your Master Account closes when the Prime Account opens. Trading begins only after KYC and signing the Prime Account Agreement.

Three separate risk frameworks, and they work differently

FundingPips layers three rules that are easy to confuse. Understanding which applies where is the difference between a smooth payout and a closed account.

Risk Per Trade Idea: Master Account only, and it closes the account

This is the maximum combined loss allowed on a single trade idea, covering realized and unrealized losses across all related positions. Breaching it means immediate closure.

It does not apply during any evaluation phase, on any model. And it does not apply to every product:

  • 1 Step Flex, 2 Step Standard and 2 Step Pro: not applicable
  • 2 Step Flex: not applicable below $25K, 3% at $25K, 2% above
  • Zero: 3% below $50K, 2% at $50K and above

A trade idea means a single trade, several positions on the same instrument in the same direction, or any new position opened within 10 minutes of closing a losing one — that last clause catches revenge trading specifically.

The Striking System: four warnings before the account goes

Where the hard limit does not apply, FundingPips uses a warning ladder instead. It governs 2 Step Standard Master Accounts above $25,000 and all 1 Step Flex Master Accounts.

A warning is recorded each time a trade idea's floating loss reaches 1% of account size on 1 Step Flex, or 1.2% on 2 Step Standard. Then:

  • Second warning: your reward split drops by half
  • Third warning: it drops to 20%
  • Fourth warning: account breach

And regardless of where you stop, any profit from a trade idea that received a warning is deducted from the account.

The Profit Concentration Policy: measured during evaluation, paid for later

If a single trade idea accounts for more than 60% of the profit target in any evaluation phase, the policy triggers — even if you have not yet reached the target.

Passing is not affected. The consequence lands afterwards: your Master Account will require 4 minimum profitable days before each reward, a profitable day being 0.5% of initial balance in net realized profit. The days need not be consecutive.

It applies to all account sizes on 1 Step Flex, and to $25,000 and above on the other models. On a $25K 2 Step Standard with an 8% target, the trigger is a single idea making more than $1,200.

News and weekends split the catalogue in two

On the evaluation stage of every model there are no news restrictions at all. You may hold through anything. The one absolute is that deliberately trading the news closes the account, at any stage.

On Master Accounts (1 Step Flex, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Flex, 2 Step Pro), profits from trades opened or closed inside a restricted window on the affected currency are deducted in full. The window is 5 minutes either side for news, 10 minutes either side for speeches. There is an exemption worth knowing: a trade opened 5 hours or more before the event is not affected.

On FundingPips Zero it is far harsher. You may not open, close or hold within 10 minutes either side of a restricted event on the affected currency, and doing so is a hard breach — the account closes immediately.

Weekend holding on Zero is also a hard breach, on any instrument. On the other models it is temporarily suspended: positions are auto-closed rather than breaching the account.

Only red-folder high-impact news and speeches count, flagged as Restricted on FundingPips' own economic calendar in the dashboard.

One clarification worth having: the restriction is about when a trade is opened or closed, not merely held. A position opened 30 minutes before an event and closed inside the window still loses those profits.

Inactivity: 30 days, and an open trade does not count

This applies to every model, not just Zero. No completed trades in 30 consecutive days breaches the account.

FundingPips answers the obvious question directly: a position sitting open does not reset the counter. The trade must be opened and fully closed. Since there is no time limit on hitting the profit target, a trader nursing one long position can breach on inactivity while technically still in the game.

FundingPips Zero: the strictest product, and the highest split

Zero pays 95% bi-weekly with no evaluation at all, across six sizes from $5K to $200K. Every rule below is a hard breach with no grace period:

  • 3% daily loss, measured from the higher of opening balance or equity
  • 5% max trailing loss, which trails your highest recorded equity and locks at breakeven once you are 5% in profit
  • 1% max open risk — floating PnL may never exceed −1% of the starting size at any moment
  • Risk per trade idea of 3% below $50K, 2% at $50K and above
  • Inactivity: no completed trades in 30 consecutive days

On top of that, unlocking a reward requires four separate conditions:

  • 7 profitable days per rolling 30-day period, each at 0.25% or more
  • a 3% safety cushion — the first 3% of profit on the Master Account is not eligible for withdrawal and exists to stop the daily loss limit triggering while a reward processes
  • a 35% consistency score: no single day may account for more than 35% of total profit
  • your biggest losing day must not exceed your biggest winning day

That last one is unusual and worth planning around: it is not about size per trade but about the shape of your equity curve.

The 1% open-risk rule is the one that surprises people: it is not a daily loss limit but a ceiling on unrealized loss at any instant, so a position that dips 1.1% underwater and recovers has already breached.

Rules, rewards and the practical details

Forbidden strategies, and the EA exception worth knowing

Terminated on sight: gap trading, high-frequency trading, server spamming, latency arbitrage, toxic flow, hedging, long-short arbitrage, reverse arbitrage, tick scalping, server execution exploits, opposite account trading, and churning and burning. Copy trading between different users' accounts and third-party account management are equally prohibited.

EAs have a two-tier rule. A third-party EA is permitted only as a trade or risk manager — any other use means denial of the evaluation or reward and closure of the account. But if the EA is your own, full automation is permitted with proof of ownership, which can be source code files. The Responsible Trading Team decides what counts.

IP activity is logged to verify that the account holder is the one trading.

Eligibility: only three countries excluded

FundingPips serves 195+ countries and turns away residents of just Iran, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates. You must be 18 or older. That is one of the shortest exclusion lists in the sector — and notably, the United States is not on it, though individual products may restrict it (the 1K Instant and the Prime Account both do).

Getting paid

Four traditional methods — card, crypto, Rise and bank transfer — plus two alternatives: turn the reward into a new challenge at no cost, or transfer it to a Tradin account for an instant +30% trading credit bonus.

Processing takes 1–3 working days, plus 1–2 more for funds to land. Before requesting: close everything including pending orders, wait at least 15 minutes after your last trade, and expect trading to be disabled while the reward processes. Rewards only go to accounts in your own name.

Profit concentration applies to rewards too: on On Demand cycles, no single trading day may exceed 35% of total profit, across all account sizes.

Resets, free trial and the rest

A breached account can be restarted at a discount, and the rate depends on where you fell: 15% off a Phase 1 reset, 10% off Phase 2, 7% off a Master Account and 20% off a FundingPips Zero. Available only within 7 calendar days of the breach, keeping the same size and platform. A Master Account reset restarts from Phase 1, and a non-USD account resets as USD.

Allocation, merging and the account you get for free

A single $400,000 ceiling is shared across every evaluation, Master and Prime Account you hold — it is not per account. Master Accounts can be merged into one, or kept separate.

There is also a 1K Instant Account, available only through giveaways and limited to the first 20,000 accounts, first come first served. It is a $1,000 Master Account with no evaluation, no minimum days and no time limit, paying 50% On Demand once profit reaches $50. Its rules are the loosest in the catalogue: news trading, weekend holds and Expert Advisors are all permitted. It runs on MT5 only and excludes the US.

From passing to trading: four steps

Passing an evaluation does not hand you a live account. Four steps follow, in order: KYC, an account review, signing the Customer Agreement, and onboarding. Two need action from you (KYC and the agreement); the other two are FundingPips' side and take up to 2 working days each.

Zero and the 1K Instant are Instant Master Accounts — once created, completing KYC and signing the agreement is enough to start.

The tools that come with it

The dashboard carries an FP Score, a proprietary 0–100 metric measuring consistency, risk-reward and discipline, plus a position size calculator. Platforms are MetaTrader 5, cTrader and Match-Trader.

FundingPips also provides an official Trade Copier across all three platforms, which copies a lead account's positions to followers in real time and scales lot sizing automatically to each follower's balance. Notably, a follower can be an external account at another broker or prop firm — copying outward is supported, while copy trading between different users' accounts remains prohibited.

The Free Trial mirrors 2 Step Standard or 2 Step Pro exactly, with both phases available and a 14-day limit per phase. MT5 only, USD only, one at a time, and it cannot run alongside any paid account. There is no profit entitlement and no path to a Master Account — it is practice, not a qualification.

Capital is capped at $400K across evaluations and up to $2M in Prime capital.

Summary: who this firm suits

FundingPips fits a trader who wants to choose their own trade-off between speed, freedom and reward percentage, and who reads the fine print before buying.

It suits you well because the models genuinely diverge rather than differing by price. 1 Step Flex has no minimum days and no time limit. 2 Step Standard lets you pick your reward cycle, including 100% monthly. 2 Step Pro pays weekly from your first Master trade. Zero pays 95% with no evaluation at all, and Labs drops put a $100K account with daily payouts at $99. The Striking System is unusually transparent — most firms breach you without warning where FundingPips gives you four. And the Prime Account with its ×12.5 multiplier, weekly coaching and volume rewards is a genuine career step rather than a marketing tier.

It suits you poorly if you hedge, since it is a forbidden strategy here rather than a restriction. It is a poor fit if you rely on third-party EAs for anything beyond risk management. And Zero's 1% open-risk rule is unforgiving in a way the headline 95% split does not suggest — an unrealized dip breaches you even if the trade recovers.

Three things to understand before buying. 2 Step Flex locks your reward structure at checkout — 85% with one trading day or 95% with three profitable days, permanently, for the same price. The Profit Concentration Policy is measured during the evaluation but charged on the Master Account, adding four profitable days before every reward if one idea made more than 60% of your target. And unlocking the Prime Account closes your Master Account, so the step up is a genuine switch rather than an addition.
