Company structure and what “broker-backed” means
Atmos Funded is the funded-trader program associated with Taurex, but that relationship needs to be described precisely. The current website says Atmos Global Ltd, registered in Mohéli, Comoros, owns and operates the site and provides the simulated trading programs. AtmosFunded Ltd, a Cyprus company, owns the brand and supplies the educational products, challenges and payment services. The site also states that Atmos is not licensed or regulated as a broker, does not hold client deposits and does not send participants’ orders to live markets.
Taurex supplies the trading infrastructure and provides a separate route for traders who want to place their payouts into a personal live brokerage account. That does not turn an Atmos challenge or funded account into a regulated brokerage account: Atmos balances remain virtual and rewards are calculated from simulated performance. This distinction is clearer in the 2026 website disclosure than in some help-centre wording that still calls the funded stage “live simulated capital” or even “real capital.”
The catalogue has six paths: 1-Step Standard, 1-Step Plus, 2-Step Standard, 2-Step Plus, Instant Funding and Nova. The useful difference is not simply the number of phases. Each family changes the drawdown mechanism, payout timing and, in two cases, the consistency test.
How the six programs differ in practice
1-Step Standard and 1-Step Plus
1-Step Standard pairs a 10% evaluation target with a 3% daily limit and a 6% trailing overall drawdown. A qualifying day must close at least 0.5% above the initial balance, and three such days are required. The trailing floor follows the highest equity until it reaches the starting balance. It then stops moving; requesting a payout also fixes the breach level at the starting balance. A trader who withdraws all profit can therefore leave no buffer and breach as soon as equity touches that line.
1-Step Plus reduces the target to 6% and removes the daily loss limit, but the trade-off is a much tighter 3% trailing drawdown. It also requires three 0.5% profitable days and adds a 45% consistency rule in the funded phase: one day may not represent more than 45% of total profit for the payout period. Its drawdown resets after a payout instead of remaining permanently locked like Standard. The published pricing also includes an activation fee after passing, so the checkout price is not the whole cost of this path.
2-Step Standard and 2-Step Plus
Both two-stage programs use static rather than trailing drawdown. Standard asks for 10% in phase one and 5% in phase two, with a 5% daily limit and a 10% overall floor. Plus asks for 6% in each phase, with tighter 3% daily and 6% overall limits. Each phase requires three profitable days of at least 0.5%.
The practical advantage of 2-Step Plus is payout timing: the first reward can be requested immediately after the funded account becomes profitable; later requests move to the normal 14-day cycle. This benefit belongs to 2-Step Plus, not 1-Step Plus. Neither two-step program has a published consistency percentage, and their fixed loss floor is easier to plan around than the equity-trailing models.
Instant Funding
Instant Funding skips evaluation and starts directly in the reward-eligible simulated stage. There is no profit target and the current help centre lists no minimum trading days. It combines a 3% daily limit with a 5% equity-trailing drawdown and a 20% payout-consistency rule. If one day produces more than one fifth of the period’s profit, the trader must add enough profit on other days to bring the ratio back within the limit.
The trailing floor locks at the initial balance when a payout is requested. Atmos explicitly warns that withdrawing the full profit can cause an immediate breach because the balance returns to the locked floor. The current product article and payout guide place Instant on a 14-day payout cycle; it is not an on-demand product.
Nova’s two-payment structure
Nova is a one-step evaluation with a $5 entry payment regardless of size. Passing does not automatically unlock the funded account: the trader then pays a separate funded fee, ranging in the current help article from $79 for 10K to $1,029 for 200K. This makes Nova a deferred-purchase model rather than a $5 funded account.
The evaluation has a 5% target, 4% daily loss limit and 8% trailing overall drawdown, with no minimum days. In the funded stage, seven profitable days are required between rewards; each must reach at least 0.5% of the initial balance. Total closed and floating risk on one symbol may not exceed 1% in a single day. Rewards are on demand, but the drawdown locks at the starting balance on payout, so Nova also requires leaving a buffer. The previous Atmos review incorrectly described Nova’s overall drawdown as static.
Drawdown, daily loss and profitable-day calculations
Atmos says loss limits are equity-based, so floating loss counts and a momentary touch can close an account. The two-step overall floors stay fixed from the opening balance. The 1-Step Standard, 1-Step Plus, Instant and Nova floors trail the highest equity until their respective lock or reset condition applies. This distinction matters more than the headline percentage: a profitable open trade can raise a trailing floor before the profit is secured.
The current rules page says the daily calculation rolls over at midnight server time. It does not give the complete formula in the help-centre article, while the older legal policy defines the 1-stage daily limit against the greater of plan size or highest recorded equity. Because the legal PDF predates the current Plus and Nova catalogue and contains several stale parameters, traders should use the live dashboard’s breach level and obtain written confirmation if their strategy operates close to the daily boundary.
Atmos does not require trading every calendar day. For evaluated programs, a required day only counts when at least one trade is opened and the day finishes with 0.5% profit. Merely placing a trade is insufficient. Challenge phases have no completion deadline, but the current help centre says an evaluation may be terminated after 90 inactive days and a funded account after 365. The linked August 2025 contract still says 60 days for challenges, another unresolved conflict.
Trading rules that can invalidate profit
News, overnight positions and execution
Positions may remain open overnight, over weekends and through high-impact news. The restriction is on opening, closing or modifying affected trades within two minutes before or after the release. Pending orders and stop-loss or take-profit activations inside that window count. The current policy treats this as a soft breach and removes the resulting profit rather than automatically closing the account, although repeated soft breaches may escalate.
The current website and help centre consistently use a ±2-minute window, while one clause in the August 2025 legal schedule says ±5 minutes and another definition in the same document says two. Since that contract says its risk policy prevails when it conflicts with the website, this is not a harmless typo: news traders should ask Atmos to confirm the enforceable window in writing.
Atmos uses variable market-based spreads, and slippage may be positive or negative during fast markets, gaps or thin liquidity. The published commission is $2.50 per lot per side, or $5 round turn. The help centre lists MT5 as the platform for every stage, with leverage of 1:50 on forex, 1:15 on metals, 1:10 on indices and 1:2 on crypto.
EAs, copying, hedging and short-duration trading
Manual scalping, swing trading and EAs are permitted in principle. The rules page narrows that permission: commercial or off-the-shelf EAs are prohibited, and an EA must represent the trader’s own strategy rather than exploit latency, stale prices or execution. Hedging long and short inside one account is allowed; opposite exposure across Atmos accounts or between Atmos and another firm or broker is prohibited.
The copy-trading documentation is inconsistent. One short article says copying is allowed only between the trader’s own Atmos accounts, while the EA article also mentions copying from the trader’s own live or demo account. The legal policy prohibits coordinated copying without explicit authorisation. The safest interpretation is to request approval before connecting any external master account.
There are several overlapping speed controls. The current prohibited-strategies article says at least half of all trades must stay open for more than two minutes. The anti-gambling policy bans rapid reversals on the same asset within 90 seconds, tick scalping and execution flooding. The older legal schedule instead states a 45-second minimum per position and no more than 30 trades per hour per product. These thresholds are not equivalent, and the published contract says Atmos retains discretion to classify HFT, so very short-duration systems face material rule uncertainty.
Anti-gambling and account-control rules
Atmos prohibits aggressive averaging and martingale, grids, one-sided clusters, oversized all-in bets, latency or feed arbitrage, group or MAM trading, platform manipulation, account sharing and abrupt strategy changes between evaluation and funded stages. Normal scalping is distinguished from tick scalping, but the assessment looks at behaviour rather than the label used by the trader.
The account must remain under the purchaser’s control. The legal policy flags inconsistent IP use, shared devices or credentials, and improper VPN or VPS use. A hard breach closes the account and open trades, forfeits profit and normally leaves purchase of a new challenge as the only route back; a reset may exist for some products but is not guaranteed.
Payouts, verification and refunds
The default reward split is 80% to the trader and can reach 90% through scaling, although the current public documentation does not publish a complete milestone schedule. Standard programs, both 1-Step plans and Instant use 14-day cycles. 2-Step Plus offers an immediate first request and then 14-day cycles; Nova is on demand. The minimum request is $100.
Requests are made from the dashboard after the account is in profit and compliant. The dashboard also contains the KYC and contract steps. Atmos may ask for proof that a bank, card or wallet belongs to the trader and may delay a payment while checking authenticity or legal requirements. Current guidance says processing normally takes two to five business days and supports crypto, bank wire or transfer into a new or existing Taurex account.
The legal PDF, however, says normal requests may take up to three business days and gives Instant a five-calendar-day minimum, while the current help centre gives Instant 14 days. The product-specific help centre is newer, but the legal policy claims priority. This contradiction should be resolved before choosing Instant for its payout timing.
Refunds are available within 14 calendar days only while no trade has been executed. The help centre also identifies duplicate payment or failed account delivery as valid cases. Once credentials have been used, the challenge has failed or a rule has been breached, the fee is non-refundable. Unjustified chargebacks can lead to loss of access and refusal of future service.
Scaling and the separate Taurex route
Atmos markets a scaling path for traders who remain for at least four months, receive at least two rewards, respect the rules and generate more than 15% total profit. The site presents higher balances and a profit split up to 90%, but it does not publish a complete step-by-step scaling table.
Atmos Elevate is separate from the simulated account. A trader can transfer an Atmos payout to a personal live Taurex account, where the current page advertises a 10% deposit bonus. Qualified traders may also become Taurex signal providers and earn up to 20% in subscription fees. The money being traded live is the trader’s transferred payout, not an Atmos allocation, and the brokerage account has its own terms and risk.
Access, legal scope and practical fit
Accounts are issued on MT5 and purchases can use cards, crypto, PayPal, Apple or Google Pay and numerous regional methods. The help centre says challenge credentials arrive within minutes, while funded-account approval after passing may take 24–48 hours. Taxes are not withheld; traders receive gross rewards and remain responsible for local reporting.
The current site excludes, among others, the United States, Belgium, Russia, Ukraine, the UAE and several sanctioned or restricted territories. The older contract contains a longer list than the 2026 footer, so residency eligibility should be checked at checkout rather than inferred from an old list.
Atmos best suits a trader who wants MT5, can keep risk comfortably away from an equity-trailing floor and does not depend on news-window entries. The two-step products are the clearest fit for traders who prefer a fixed overall floor; 1-Step Plus and Instant demand more active control of consistency and payout buffers; Nova lowers the initial commitment but postpones most of the cost until after passing.
Its strongest points are the variety of risk structures, the Taurex payout route and unusually explicit explanations of many prohibited behaviours. Its main weakness is documentation control: the live help centre, website and still-linked legal agreement conflict on inactivity, payout timing, leverage, copy trading and short-duration rules. A trader whose edge sits near any of those boundaries should get a written answer from support before buying, because the contract gives Atmos broad discretion and says the legal risk policy prevails.
