Perpetuals on Hyperliquid, and why that changes what you can trade

E8 Markets Perpetuals is the newest of E8's three arms, and it is not simply crypto with another name. It replaced the previous Crypto market entirely and runs on E8 Terminal, E8's own platform, using the Hyperliquid data feed.

Perpetual futures are derivative contracts that track an asset's price without an expiry date. There is no contract month to roll, no settlement to plan around, and the market runs 24/7. You hold as long as your margin holds.

The practical consequence is the instrument list. Because perpetuals track price rather than deliver anything, E8 Perpetuals covers cryptocurrencies, stocks, indices, metals, forex and energy — a far wider range than the crypto market it replaced.

Hyperliquid is a decentralised exchange built specifically for perpetuals, running on its own blockchain with on-chain order books and liquidations. E8 uses it as the price feed, so the spreads and movements on your account mirror what is happening there in real time. Everything remains simulated — the SimFi™ environment, real data, no real capital.

Two products, and they are opposites

Both are single-phase challenges. The choice is between tight-and-generous or loose-and-capped.

E8 One Perpetual targets 6% against a 3% daily drawdown and a 4% dynamic drawdown. It pays up to 100% of performance with no payout caps, and applies a 40% Best Day Rule once funded.

E8 Pro Perpetual targets 8% against a 2.5% daily drawdown and an 8% static drawdown. It has no consistency rule at all and no payout caps, pays daily, but imposes a 2% daily profit cap.

Both carry a 60-day inactivity rule — you must open and close at least one trade in that window, far more generous than the 7 days E8 applies to futures.

The two drawdown models behave completely differently

E8 One's dynamic drawdown is a moving floor based on your highest closed balance. It rises each time you close a profit, holds there while you are flat or losing, and locks permanently once it reaches your initial balance. Floating gains never move it — E8's phrasing is that they count what you keep, not what you almost had.

E8 Pro's static drawdown is 8% of your initial balance and never moves at all, with a single exception: when your first payout is processed it jumps up to the initial balance level. On a $100,000 account, the floor goes from $92,000 to $100,000 the first time you withdraw.

The 2% daily profit cap on Pro deletes your best days

This is the trade-off for Pro's freedom elsewhere, and it is easy to misread.

Only 2% of the initial balance counts toward your target or profit each day. You can make more — your balance rises normally — but anything above 2% is removed at rollover. On a $100,000 account that is $2,000 a day, and a $6,000 day contributes the same as a $2,000 one.

For an 8% target, that means a minimum of four qualifying days, no matter how well a single session goes.

The Best Day Rule, and the payout trap behind it

E8 One Perpetual applies a 40% Best Day Rule in the funded stage: no single day may exceed 40% of your total generated profit when you request a payout. Exceeding it does not fail the account — you keep trading until the total dilutes that day.

The arithmetic: a best day of $1,000 requires $2,500 in total profit before you can request. Because three roughly equal days is the fastest way to satisfy it, the earliest first payout is 3 days into the performance stage.

E8 Pro Perpetual has no consistency rule whatsoever, and pays daily with a minimum of 1% profit.

Withdrawing everything breaches the account

E8 documents this with a worked example, and it is the single most important thing to understand before your first payout.

On E8 One, requesting a payout reduces your balance but does not move your dynamic drawdown loss level. The gap between the two is your buffer, and it shrinks by exactly what you withdraw.

With a $100,000 account, a 6% dynamic drawdown and a balance of $106,000 sitting against a locked $100,000 loss level:

  • Withdraw $3,000 → balance $103,000, buffer $3,000. Safe.
  • Withdraw $5,000 → balance $101,000, buffer $1,000. E8 flags this as risky.
  • Withdraw $6,000 → balance $100,000, buffer zero. The account fails.

E8's guidance is blunt: never request 100% of your available performance, and leave 2–3% in the account after every payout as room for error.

E8 Pro handles this automatically instead. Every payout is split in half — 50% paid to you, 50% retained as a buffer — which E8 says guarantees a withdrawal can never itself cause a violation.

Leverage, limits and the rules you inherit

Perpetual leverage is the most generous in E8's catalogue: 1:25 on forex, 1:15 on Bitcoin, Ethereum, indices, metals and energy, 1:5 on stocks and 1:2 on other crypto instruments. Compare that to E8's dedicated crypto products at 1:5 on BTC and 1:2 on everything else.

Note that perpetual products have no swap-free option and no commission-free or raw-spread configuration; those exist only on the forex products.

Hyperliquid instruments on E8 Terminal carry their own position limits, separate from the 50-lot ceiling that governs E8's forex products.

Everything else follows E8's house rules. No stop-loss required. Martingale allowed. EAs permitted including third-party ones, with the caveat that E8 limits one strategy per user and may terminate accounts when several users run the same one. Copy trading between your own accounts is allowed; teams and signal services are not. Hedging across accounts is strictly prohibited, as is all-or-nothing trading.

The mechanical limits are firm: 100 open orders at a time, 2,000 server requests per day, 2,000 positions per day.

Allocation, eligibility and payouts

Challenge accounts are unlimited. Funded accounts cap at $500,000 each on E8 One Perpetual and E8 Pro Perpetual, and the limits apply per household — several traders at one address or IP share a single ceiling.

Payments run through WorkMarket, Rise or Aeropay. Traders are independent contractors: a 1099 for US residents by 31 January, a W-8 for everyone else.

One profile per person, purchases from a card in your own name, and no company registrations. KYC goes through Veriff.

Refunds need an untraded account under 30 days old, and crypto purchases cannot be refunded at all. Fail an account and a 10% restart discount appears for 7 days.

The free trial covers this market: two every 28 days, mimicking E8 One Perpetual conditions on E8 Terminal, with no payouts available. You need only a Google or Discord registration to access it.

The country restrictions match E8's forex list rather than the much longer futures one — around 30 countries including Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Ukraine and, unusually, the United Arab Emirates.

Summary: who this firm suits

E8 Markets Perpetuals fits a trader who wants leverage and a 24/7 market across asset classes, without contract months to manage.

It suits you well because perpetuals remove the friction futures impose: no expiry, no rollover, no forced daily close, and positions held as long as your margin allows. The instrument range is unusually broad for a crypto-derived product — stocks, indices, metals, forex and energy alongside crypto — and the 1:25 leverage on forex is the highest E8 offers anywhere. E8 Pro Perpetual has no consistency rule and pays daily, with its 50/50 payout split removing the risk of withdrawing yourself into a breach. E8 One Perpetual pays up to 100% with no caps. And the 60-day inactivity window is eight times more forgiving than E8's futures accounts.

It suits you poorly if you want to bank a single exceptional day: Pro's 2% daily profit cap deletes the excess, and One's 40% Best Day Rule delays the payout until your total catches up. It is a poor fit if you need swap-free accounts, which perpetuals do not offer. And the Hyperliquid feed means your fills reflect a decentralised exchange rather than a traditional venue — transparent, but different from what most traders are used to.

Three things to understand before buying. On E8 One, withdrawing your full profit breaches the account — the loss level does not move down with your balance, so always leave 2–3% behind. Pro's daily profit cap means an 8% target takes at least four qualifying days regardless of how good one session is. And allocation limits apply per household, so two traders under one roof share a single $500,000 ceiling per product.
