Plans and conditions

Maximum allocation
$1,000,000
Maximum number of accounts

Unlimited evaluation accounts. Total funded allocation across 1-Step and Instant accounts is capped at $1,000,000.

Mandatory buffer
~

Applies only to 1-Step Funded accounts and must remain in the account: $1,000 on $25K, $2,000 on $50K, $3,000 on $100K and $4,500 on $150K. Each payout also requires new profit equal to 1% of the initial balance above the buffer. Instant accounts use a recurring payout milestone instead: $1,450, $3,000, $5,000 and $8,000 respectively.

Maximum drawdown
  • 1-Step: EOD trailing, based on the highest end-of-day balance; it locks at the initial balance once the Profit Buffer is reached.
  • Instant: intraday trailing, following the highest balance or open equity.
  • Reaching the maximum drawdown is a hard breach.
Daily drawdown

Calculated from the end-of-day balance. A breach is soft: positions are closed and trading stops for that day; the account is not failed.

Minimum trading days

The 1-Step evaluation can be passed in one trading day.

Maximum trading days

No time limit for the 1-Step evaluation. Accounts close after 15 consecutive calendar days without a trade.

Minimum profitable days
  • 1-Step evaluation: none
  • 1-Step Funded: 3 per payout cycle
  • Instant: 5 per payout cycle

A profitable day requires at least 0.25% of the initial account balance in realised profit.

One-step challenge
✓
Instant funding
✓
Account scaling
✓
Account reset
  • 1-Step evaluation: a discounted reset can be purchased within 14 calendar days of a breach.
  • 1-Step Funded: up to 2 resets before the first payout, within 14 days of the breach; each costs 5 times the evaluation fee.
  • Instant: no standard reset; the same size can be repurchased at a reduced price within 3 calendar days of a breach.

Rules

News trading
~

Allowed without restrictions during the 1-Step evaluation. On 1-Step Funded and Instant accounts, orders cannot be opened, closed or triggered from 2 minutes before until 2 minutes after high-impact news.

Expert Advisor (EA)
✓

Bots, EAs and personal automated strategies are allowed if they do not exploit latency, feed errors or the simulated environment.

Mandatory stop loss
✗
Weekend positions
✗

Positions cannot be carried through the Friday close into the Sunday reopen.

Overnight positions
✗

All open positions are automatically closed at 15:55 CT, five minutes before the daily close.

Copy trading
~

Allowed only between accounts personally owned and controlled by the same trader, including their accounts at other prop firms. Third-party signals, accounts and copy services are prohibited.

Hedging
~

Hedging within one account is allowed, including mini versus micro positions. Opposing or correlated hedges across separate accounts or prop firms are prohibited.

Prohibited strategies

Hedging across accounts or platforms; latency, feed, spread or exchange arbitrage; account or device sharing; coordinated/group trading; copying third parties; spoofing, layering and market or order-queue manipulation; volume inflation or artificial trades; HFT and algorithmic exploitation; non-viable simulated-fill strategies; gambling/account rolling; news straddling; and gap or illiquid-market exploitation.

Consistency rule
~

No consistency rule during the 1-Step evaluation. At payout, one day may represent at most 40% of cycle profit on 1-Step Funded accounts and 20% on Instant accounts.

Inactivity rule

15 consecutive calendar days without a trade is a hard breach and permanently closes the account.

Scalping
~

Microscalping is allowed, but no more than 50% of total profit may come from trades held for less than 30 seconds.

VPN allowed
~

Connections must remain stable and verifiable. VPNs, proxies or location masking are prohibited when they impair identity, location or account-control checks.

Business and Operational Infrastructure

Finotive Futures is a prop firm headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, specifically within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The organization focuses exclusively on the futures market, providing capital through two primary models: evaluation-based accounts and instant funding.

The firm operates with a technical infrastructure that supports a wide array of professional trading platforms. Traders can utilize NinjaTrader, Tradovate, TradingView, DeepCharts, ATAS, and Quantower. This diversity in platforms allows for different styles of technical analysis and execution, from chart-based trading to order flow and volume analysis. The primary brokers used are NinjaTrader and Volumetrica.

Account Structures and Evaluation Models

The firm offers two distinct paths to capital: the 1-Step Challenge and the Instant Account. Each has specific risk parameters and objective requirements designed to filter for different types of trading profiles.

1-Step Evaluation Phase

This model is designed for traders who prefer a traditional testing phase before accessing funded capital.

  • Profit Target: Traders must reach a specific profit goal (e.g., $6,000 for a $100K account) to pass.
  • Time Limits: There are no maximum trading days, allowing for a patient approach. However, the evaluation can be completed in as little as one trading day.
  • Drawdown Type: Uses an End-of-Day (EOD) trailing drawdown. This is calculated based on the highest balance achieved at the close of the trading day, which is generally more forgiving than intraday trailing as it ignores unrealized equity spikes during the session.

Instant Funding Model

The Instant Account bypasses the evaluation phase, allowing immediate access to a profit split.

  • Immediate Access: No profit targets are required to start earning.
  • Drawdown Type: Unlike the 1-Step, this model uses intraday trailing drawdown. This follows the highest balance or open equity in real-time. This requires much tighter trade management, as giving back open profits during a trade can cause the drawdown limit to move up, reducing the available room for future losses.

Risk Management and Drawdown Mechanics

Finotive Futures employs a dual-layer drawdown system consisting of daily limits and maximum total limits.

Daily Drawdown (Soft Breach)

The daily loss limit is calculated based on the end-of-day balance.

  • Nature of the Breach: This is classified as a soft breach. If the limit is hit, all positions are closed and trading is disabled for the remainder of the day.
  • Account Survival: The account is not terminated. Trading can resume the following day. This mechanic serves as a forced "circuit breaker" to prevent emotional trading and catastrophic daily losses.

Maximum Drawdown (Hard Breach)

The maximum drawdown is the ultimate limit for the account.

  • 1-Step Accounts: The EOD trailing drawdown locks at the initial balance once the Profit Buffer is reached. This means that once a trader has generated enough profit, the drawdown no longer trails upward, effectively turning the account into one with a static minimum balance.
  • Instant Accounts: The trailing remains intraday and follows the equity/balance peaks.
  • Consequence: Reaching this limit is a hard breach, resulting in permanent account closure.

Inactivity Rule

Accounts are subject to an inactivity rule of 15 consecutive calendar days. Failure to place at least one trade within this window results in a hard breach and permanent closure of the account. This ensures that the allocated capital is being actively utilized.

Trading Rules and Restrictions

The firm allows for significant flexibility but maintains strict "anti-gambling" and "anti-exploit" policies.

Consistency and Scalping

  • Consistency Rule: At the time of a payout request, a single trading day cannot account for more than 40% of the total profit on 1-Step Funded accounts or 20% on Instant accounts. This forces traders to demonstrate a repeatable strategy rather than relying on one or two lucky trades.
  • Microscalping: While allowed, it is restricted. No more than 50% of the total profit can come from trades held for less than 30 seconds. This prevents strategies that rely solely on high-frequency noise or simulated environment latency.

News Trading and Prohibited Times

  • Evaluation Phase: News trading is permitted without restrictions.
  • Funded/Instant Accounts: There is a 4-minute window of restriction (2 minutes before and 2 minutes after high-impact news). During this time, orders cannot be opened, closed, or triggered.
  • Overnight and Weekend: All positions must be closed by 15:55 CT daily. Holding positions over the weekend is strictly prohibited.

Strategy Restrictions

  • EAs and Bots: Personal automated strategies are permitted as long as they do not exploit the simulated nature of the feed.
  • Hedging: Allowed within a single account (including mini vs. micro). However, hedging across different accounts or different prop firms is prohibited.
  • Martingale: Allowed if used "responsibly." Aggressive exposure increases the risk of being flagged for gambling behavior.
  • Copy Trading: Only allowed between accounts owned by the same trader. Third-party signals or copy services are grounds for termination.

Payout Policy and Capital Scaling

The payout system is designed to reward long-term stability rather than short-term gains.

The Mandatory Buffer

For 1-Step Funded accounts, a specific amount must remain in the account as a "buffer."

  • Buffer Amounts: $1,000 for $25K accounts, up to $4,500 for $150K accounts.
  • Implication: This buffer is not withdrawable. Furthermore, each payout request requires new profit equal to 1% of the initial balance above this buffer. This ensures the account maintains a safety margin after every withdrawal.

Payout Frequency and Limits

  • Frequency: Payouts are "on demand" once requirements are met, with a processing time of 24 to 48 hours.
  • Minimum Withdrawal: $500 (before the 90% split).
  • Maximum Withdrawal: There are caps on the first and subsequent payouts depending on the account size (e.g., on a $100K 1-Step account, the first payout is capped at $2,500, and subsequent ones at $3,000).

Transition to Live Accounts

Finotive Futures uses a simulated-funded environment. Transition to a real live-account pool is not automatic. It is at the firm's discretion and usually happens after the 5th payout, significant lifetime earnings, or exceptional performance.

Scaling and Resets

  • Scaling: The firm allows for total funded allocation up to $1,000,000 across multiple accounts.
  • Resets:
    • In the Evaluation Phase, discounted resets are available within 14 days of a breach.
    • In the Funded Phase (1-Step), a trader can purchase up to 2 resets before the first payout, but the cost is high (5 times the evaluation fee).
    • Instant Accounts do not have resets, but the same size can be repurchased at a reduced price within 3 days of a breach.

Summary for the Trader

Key Considerations

  • The Soft Breach Advantage: The daily loss limit being a soft breach is a significant safety feature that protects the trader's account from total loss due to a single bad day.
  • The Buffer Requirement: Traders must understand that their "withdrawable" balance is always lower than their total profit because of the mandatory buffer and the 1% extra profit rule.
  • Consistency Requirements: The 40%/20% consistency rule and the 30-second scalping rule make this firm more suitable for intraday swing traders or disciplined scalpers rather than "all-in" news traders or high-frequency automated bots.
  • Drawdown Evolution: The fact that the 1-Step drawdown eventually locks at the starting balance is a major benefit for long-term account growth.

Trader Profile Fit

  • Ideal for: Disciplined intraday traders who use professional platforms (NinjaTrader/TradingView), manage risk consistently, and value account longevity over high-risk "one-shot" payouts.
  • Less suitable for: High-frequency traders (due to the <30s rule), weekend swing traders (prohibited), or those looking for immediate, unlimited withdrawals of all generated profits.

Main Highlights and Limitations

  • Highlights: 90% profit split, soft breach daily limits, 24-48h payout processing, wide platform support, and drawdown locking at the initial balance for funded accounts.
  • Limitations: Mandatory profit buffer, news trading restrictions on funded phases, intraday trailing drawdown on Instant accounts, and caps on maximum withdrawal amounts per cycle.
