Rules
Evaluation phase (EOD, Sprint, FLEX)
No news trading restrictions.
Funded phase (all account types including Instant)
2-minute buffer around high-impact news events. Within 2 min before/after release you cannot open, close or trigger pending orders. Positions opened before the window may be held through the event.
Microscalping rule
EOD, Sprint, Instant: profits from trades closed within 2 minutes of opening are deducted (not a breach but profits invalid).
FLEX: microscalping rule does NOT apply.
Personal automated strategies and EAs are allowed, provided they are consistent with the trader's style and do not exploit system vulnerabilities, latency, or data feed anomalies. Strategies designed to manipulate the simulated environment are prohibited.
Overnight holding NOT permitted (all account types). All positions must be closed before the end of the trading session. Weekend holding also NOT permitted.
Copy trading between your own accounts is allowed (e.g. between multiple GFF accounts in your name). Bundle discounts (2 or 3 accounts) are available and you can copy trades to all simultaneously. Cross-user copy trading is not addressed in the helpcenter.
- Tick scalping and other extremely short-duration trading.
- Trades closed within 2 minutes — profits are deducted (micro-scalping rule).
- Unrealistic execution that relies on simulated market conditions (slippage, liquidity, partial fills) not replicable in live.
- Holding positions overnight or over the weekend.
- Trading affected instruments inside the 2-minute high-impact news buffer on funded accounts.
No single day can represent more than:
- EOD Challenge — Evaluation: 50% of total profits. Funded: 30% during a payout period.
- Sprint Challenge — Evaluation: 50%. Funded: 35%.
- FLEX Challenge — Evaluation: 50%. Funded: none.
- Instant Funded — 20% (the tightest of all plans).
- Instant Lite — 15% for the 1st payout, 20% for the 2nd, 25% from the 3rd onwards.
- GOAT Daily — Evaluation: 40%. Funded: none.
Violating the rule blocks the next payout but does not close the account.
15 consecutive days without trades results in account breach. Applies to both evaluation and funded accounts. Once breached, account cannot be reinstated and fees are non-refundable. Notify support in advance if you plan to be away.
Manual scalping allowed. Tick scalping and trades closed within 2 minutes have their profits deducted (micro-scalping rule).

Corporate and Operational Infrastructure
GOAT Funded Futures is a Hong Kong-based proprietary trading firm established in 2024, specifically tailored for the futures market. Unlike firms that offer a mix of CFDs and forex, this entity focuses exclusively on exchange-traded instruments within the CME, COMEX, NYMEX, and CBOT environments. Their operational model is built around high-speed execution through established data feeds like CQG and DxFeed, supporting a wide array of professional trading platforms such as NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and Quantower.
The firm’s business structure is characterized by a commitment to payout efficiency, backed by a service-level agreement (SLA) that guarantees a $500 bonus to traders if a withdrawal request is not processed within two business days. This level of transparency in payout processing, combined with a physical headquarters in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, positions the firm within the competitive landscape of futures-focused funding providers.
Evaluation Models and Account Pathways
Traders have access to four distinct account pathways, each designed to accommodate different risk tolerances and trading styles. All evaluation-based plans (EOD, Sprint, and Pro) utilize a one-step process, simplifying the path to funding.
EOD Challenge
The EOD (End-of-Day) Challenge is designed for traders who prefer that their drawdown be calculated only at the close of the trading day. This prevents intraday price swings and unrealized profits from tightening the drawdown limit prematurely.
- Drawdown Calculation: End-of-day trailing.
- Account Sizes: Options range from $50K to $150K.
- Profit Split: 100% on the first $10,000, followed by a 90/10 split.
- Consistency: A 50% rule applies during evaluation, which tightens to 30% once the account is funded.
Sprint Challenge
The Sprint Challenge is aimed at high-frequency or intraday traders who are comfortable with tighter risk management. The primary differentiator here is the drawdown mechanic.
- Drawdown Calculation: Intraday trailing drawdown, meaning the limit moves upward in real-time as equity increases.
- Account Sizes: Includes a smaller $25K entry option up to $100K.
- Speed: This plan typically features lower profit targets relative to the drawdown, but the intraday trailing nature makes it technically more demanding.
Pro Challenge
The Pro Challenge is the premium evaluation tier. It offers the most favorable conditions for professional traders by removing the consistency rule in the funded phase and providing higher drawdown limits.
- Drawdown Calculation: End-of-day trailing at a flat 4% across all sizes.
- Contract Limits: More restrictive initial contract limits compared to the EOD Challenge, encouraging disciplined scaling.
- No Consistency Rule: Once funded, there is no cap on how much a single day can contribute to total profits, providing maximum flexibility for high-conviction setups.
Instant Funded
This pathway bypasses the evaluation phase entirely, allowing immediate access to a funded account for a higher upfront fee.
- Risk Parameters: Features a 3% daily loss limit (soft breach) and a 5% intraday trailing drawdown.
- Strict Consistency: A 20% consistency rule is enforced, the strictest among all plans, ensuring that traders do not gamble the account on single high-impact events.
- Requirements: Requires 7 winning days and a 10-calendar-day waiting period before the first payout.
Trading Rules and Operational Constraints
The firm maintains a set of technical and behavioral rules designed to ensure that trading activity is replicable in a live market environment.
The Micro-Scalping and Tick Scalping Rule
One of the most critical restrictions is the prohibition of "micro-scalping." Any trade closed within two minutes is subject to profit deduction. This rule exists to prevent traders from exploiting the nuances of simulated execution that might not be possible in a real exchange order book where slippage and liquidity depth are factors. Manual scalping is permitted, but the duration of the trade must exceed the two-minute threshold to count toward profitable equity.
News Trading Policy
The firm allows unrestricted news trading during the evaluation phase across all plans. However, once a trader moves to a funded account, a strict two-minute buffer is implemented around high-impact news events. During this window, traders cannot open new positions, close existing ones, or have pending orders triggered. Violating this in a funded environment is considered a breach of the professional conduct agreement.
Consistency and Winning Day Requirements
Consistency rules are used to ensure that a trader’s success is a result of a repeatable strategy rather than a single lucky trade.
- Winning Day Definition: A day is considered a "winning day" only if the net P&L exceeds 0.2% of the initial account balance.
- Profit Distribution: In most evaluation plans, no single day can account for more than 50% of the total profit needed to pass. In the funded phase, this typically drops to 30% (except for the Pro plan). If a trader exceeds these percentages, the payout is blocked until further trading brings the percentages back into alignment, though the account remains open.
Position Sizing and Scaling
Contract limits are strictly enforced and scale with account size. For example, a $50K EOD account allows 5 minis or 50 micros, while a $150K EOD account allows up to 12 minis or 120 micros. Exceeding these limits is usually prevented by the platform, but persistent attempts can lead to account review.
Drawdown Mechanics and Risk Management
Understanding the distinction between End-of-Day (EOD) and Intraday trailing drawdown is vital for risk management at this firm.
End-of-Day (EOD) Trailing Drawdown
Available in the EOD and Pro Challenges, this mechanic only updates the drawdown threshold at the end of the trading day. If a trader is up $2,000 intraday but closes the day at break-even, the drawdown threshold does not move. This is highly advantageous for traders who hold positions throughout the day and need room for the market to breathe.
Intraday Trailing Drawdown
Used in the Sprint and Instant Funded plans, this threshold moves up in real-time as the account's high-water mark (including unrealized profit) increases. If a trader is in a winning position that subsequently retraces, the drawdown threshold remains at the highest point reached during the trade. This requires very precise exit strategies to avoid "chasing" the drawdown.
Daily Loss Limits and Soft Breaches
The EOD Challenge and Instant Funded plans incorporate daily loss limits (2.5% and 3% respectively). These are treated as "soft breaches," meaning the account is typically locked for the day rather than permanently terminated, though specific conditions apply depending on the funded status.
Payout Policy and Profit Sharing
The firm utilizes a tiered payout structure that rewards longevity and consistent performance.
Withdrawal Windows and Processing
Payouts are not "anytime" requests but are restricted to two monthly windows: the 5th to the 8th and the 20th to the 23rd. This batch-processing model allows the firm to manage liquidity and verify compliance with consistency and micro-scalping rules. The minimum withdrawal amount is $100, and the primary payment method is Rise.
Payout Caps
To manage risk, the firm implements withdrawal caps that increase with each successful payout:
- EOD Challenge ($50K): Starts at a $1,500 cap for the first payout, increasing to $2,750 by the fourth.
- Sprint Challenge ($100K): Starts at $2,500, increasing to $4,500.
- Pro Challenge: Notably, the Pro Challenge does not publish specific caps, suggesting a more open withdrawal policy for this premium tier.
Profit Split Structure
For the EOD, Sprint, and Instant Funded plans, traders receive 100% of the first $10,000 in withdrawals. This is a significant incentive for traders to recoup their initial investment and build a buffer. After the first $10,000, the split reverts to a standard 90/10 in favor of the trader. The Pro Challenge starts at 90/10 from the first dollar.
Technical Environment and Data Integration
The technical setup is robust, focusing on professional-grade futures data.
Data Feeds and Platforms
Traders must choose their data feed at the time of purchase, and it cannot be changed later.
- CQG: Integrated with NinjaTrader, Tradovate, and TradingView. This is the preferred choice for those using web-based platforms or the industry-standard NinjaTrader.
- DxFeed: Integrated with Quantower, ATAS, and Volumetrica. This is tailored for order flow traders who require deep market data and specialized footprint or volume profile tools.
Inactivity and Account Maintenance
Accounts are subject to a 30-day inactivity rule. Failure to place a trade within 30 days results in account closure. There are no monthly recurring fees for the evaluation phase; once the one-time fee is paid, the trader has unlimited time to reach the profit target, provided they remain active.
Scaling and Rewards Program
Rather than a traditional tiered scaling plan where account sizes double at fixed intervals, GOAT Funded Futures uses a points-based rewards program.
Earning Points
Traders earn points through various milestones:
- Passing a challenge.
- Successfully withdrawing funds.
- Reaching trading milestones.
- Social media engagement.
Redeeming Perks
These points can be exchanged for tangible account improvements, effectively allowing traders to "build" their own scaling plan. Perks include:
- Account Scaling: Increasing account size by 10%.
- Drawdown Extensions: Adding $500 to the maximum drawdown limit.
- Faster Payouts: Reducing the processing time to 24 hours.
- Profit Split Boosts: Adding an extra 5% to a specific withdrawal.
Summary of Key Considerations
Key Highlights
- Payout Guarantee: A $500 penalty paid by the firm for late withdrawals provides a strong incentive for timely payments.
- Flexible Drawdown Options: The choice between EOD and Intraday drawdown allows traders to select a plan that fits their specific strategy.
- High Profit Retainment: The 100% split on the first $10,000 is among the most competitive in the futures prop space.
- Robust Platform Support: Integration with high-end tools like ATAS and Quantower caters to professional order flow traders.
Important Limitations
- Micro-Scalping Rule: The two-minute minimum hold rule is a significant restriction for scalp traders who rely on quick momentum bursts.
- Withdrawal Windows: The restricted payout dates (twice a month) may not suit traders who require more frequent access to capital.
- News Buffer: The mandatory two-minute buffer on funded accounts requires strict adherence to economic calendars to avoid violations.
- Consistency Tiers: The transition from 50% consistency in evaluation to 30% in funded status requires a tightening of trading discipline.
Ideal Trader Profile
This firm is best suited for intraday and swing traders who focus on the futures markets and utilize professional order flow or technical analysis platforms. The EOD Challenge is particularly attractive for those who need intraday breathing room, while the Pro Challenge is designed for experienced traders who want to eliminate consistency caps. It is less ideal for high-frequency scalpers or "news hunters" due to the two-minute hold and news buffer rules.
