Position size scaling

The contract limit grows with each level of the ladder. An account that starts at 10 micros can reach 50 micros; larger accounts scale up to 50 standard contracts.

Account scaling

Buying power scales from end-of-day profit and is adjusted daily at 16:00 CT.

After passing the Challenge the account moves through a level ladder. Each level has its own profit target and drawdown limit; reaching the target unlocks a payout and promotes the account to the next level, with more capital, more drawdown flexibility and a higher profit share. Smaller accounts run through around 10 levels.

Available for Futures Challenges with at least one trading day remaining; unavailable on Earning accounts.

Copy trading

Copy trading is allowed up to 5 accounts (manual or automated). If you copy the same strategy to more than 5 accounts, we reserve the right to deny upgrades of additional accounts. You may only copy from external accounts that are yours (not from other traders). Copying between your Futures Challenges and Futures Earning accounts is prohibited.

  • Futures Instant: allowed between 2 accounts.
Hedging

Hedging within the same account is allowed for risk-management purposes, provided no Hedging Arbitrage is involved. Hedging between two accounts (BUY on one + SELL on the other) is prohibited.

Prohibited strategies
  • High-frequency, latency, reverse, hedge-arbitrage or arbitrage trading
  • Grid, martingale, gambling or account rolling
  • Gap trading before extended market closures
  • Copying between Challenge and Earning accounts
  • Emulators, unauthorized feeds or exploiting fills
Consistency rule

40% Consistency Rule (Futures Prime Challenge only). Single-day profit may not exceed 40% of the profit target. Any excess is added to the new profit target. The rule does not apply to Earning accounts.

  • Futures Instant: the biggest profitable day may not exceed 20% of total profit before a payout.
Inactivity rule

21 consecutive days without placing a single trade → the account is considered inactive and breached. Holding an overnight position or having an unexecuted pending order does NOT count as activity. The countdown starts when the account is purchased/created.

What The Trading Pit Futures actually offers

The Trading Pit Futures is the futures arm of The Trading Pit Challenge GmbH, a Liechtenstein company registered under FL-0002.693.417-1. The company is majority-owned by Pinorena Capital and is led by CEO Daniela Egli. This is not a broker or regulated investment firm: the Challenge and the subsequent Earning account both use virtual funds in a simulated environment. After passing, the trader signs a signal-provider agreement and is paid for eligible trading data rather than being given ownership of a live account.

The current retail offer is Futures Prime, a one-step evaluation with three account sizes. The price shown at checkout is a one-time fee rather than a subscription. The countdown starts as soon as the purchase succeeds, not on the first trade, and runs for 30 calendar days including weekends and holidays. A pass requires the profit target, at least three unique trading days, no rule breach, and all positions and pending orders closed before requesting the upgrade. The review normally takes one to three working days.

New Prime accounts purchased from 26 March 2026 show a zero activation fee. The help center still says that older accounts and reset breached accounts can incur the former €129 activation fee, so a reset is not always the last cost of reaching the Earning phase.

How the evaluation rules work

The 40% consistency adjustment

For Futures Prime accounts created on or after 14 July 2026, the best trading day may not exceed 40% of the total profit target. Exceeding it does not fail the account; instead, the target is recalculated so that the best day equals exactly 40% of the new target. A $1,500 best day on an original $3,000 target therefore changes the target to $3,750, calculated as $1,500 divided by 0.40.

That formula matters because the previous policy only added the amount above the original 40% allowance. Older accounts therefore follow a different calculation. The consistency rule applies in the Challenge but not in the Prime Earning account.

End-of-day trailing drawdown

Maximum drawdown trails the closed balance at the end of the trading day, not unrealized intraday highs. If the closing balance makes a new high, the floor rises by the same amount; if the balance later falls, the floor never moves back down. It stops trailing when it reaches the original starting balance and then remains fixed there. Intraday gains that disappear before the close do not lift this floor.

This is more forgiving than an intraday trailing model, but a payout can reduce the cushion above the fixed floor. The dashboard limit, not the headline account balance, is the figure that determines how much room remains.

Daily Pause is not a hard stop

Daily Pause is recalculated at 16:15 CT from the previous closing balance. If current equity falls below the displayed limit, open positions are liquidated and trading is disabled until the next trading day; the account is not automatically failed merely for reaching the pause.

The protection is not guaranteed to execute at the exact threshold. The firm warns that slippage can carry equity through the Pause and into the maximum-drawdown limit, producing a breach. It also does nothing when the maximum-drawdown floor is closer than the Daily Pause. A trader still needs an actual stop-loss and should not treat the dashboard control as one.

Time, resets and extensions

A Reset returns the balance to its starting value but preserves only the days still left on the original countdown. It is available on Futures Challenges while at least one calendar day remains, can be bought repeatedly, and is not available on Earning accounts. Current checkout prices are €79, €149 and €229 by account size. The help center also warns that resetting a breached account can reactivate the legacy activation fee.

An Extend preserves the account and its existing progress while adding the original 30-day duration. It is shown only while more than one trading day remains and currently costs the same as a new Challenge for the selected size. Resets and extensions are optional and non-refundable.

Earning account and reward mechanics

Buying power after the Challenge

Prime does not use the old Classic ladder in which each profit target creates a new account level. Instead, the number of contracts available in the Earning account changes with end-of-day profit and is recalculated daily at 16:00 CT. The starting contract allowance in the Earning phase is lower than the Challenge allowance, then expands at the published profit thresholds. This is contract scaling, not a promise that the virtual account balance itself is multiplied.

There is no stated limit on the number of Challenges a person can buy, but only five Futures Earning accounts may be active. Additional passed accounts wait in a queue until an existing Earning account closes. Copying the same strategy beyond five accounts can also cause the extra upgrades to be rejected.

Both Challenge and Earning accounts breach after 21 consecutive days without an executed trade. The clock begins when the account is purchased or created; an overnight position or an unfilled pending order does not count as activity.

Current reward requirements

The policy for accounts created on or after 14 July 2026 advertises an 80% trader share. Before the first request, the trader needs five profitable days; an update effective 27 July lowered the qualifying amount from $200 to $150 net profit per day. The days need not be consecutive. The product page says a reward can be requested every seven days.

Each request is limited to 50% of the realized profit buffer and also to the cap for the account size. After a payment, the remaining balance becomes the new baseline. A later request requires the balance to be at least $0.01 above that baseline and another five qualifying $150 days. The minimum request is $100.

The firm deducts 1% from the trader's final profit-share amount for transaction or gas costs. Bank transfer and cryptocurrency are the currently documented withdrawal methods, and the first reward requires completed KYC. The marketing page says Prime payments are normally processed in one to two business days, while the current legal terms allow payment up to 30 calendar days after a reward is approved. The longer contractual window is the safer expectation.

Refund policy is internally inconsistent

A support article updated for 2026 says accounts purchased from 29 April onward receive the Challenge-fee refund after the third approved payout; older accounts receive it after the first. However, the firm's rewards page still says Futures Prime has no fee refund, and another older comparison article says the same. Because those official pages conflict, the purchase fee should be treated as non-refundable unless support confirms the applicable policy for the specific order in writing.

Separately, an unused Challenge can be cancelled within 14 days of purchase only if no trading activity has taken place. Starting to trade ends that withdrawal route; Reset and Extend purchases are not refundable.

Trading rules that need close attention

Overnight, news and market closures

Prime is an intraday product. Positions cannot remain open overnight or through the weekend. The help center says risk managers force-close them five minutes before the regular market close, although it publishes conflicting times in different places—14:55 CT in the overnight article and a 16:00 CT regular close in its session guide. Holiday sessions are an exception: automatic liquidation may not run, leaving the trader responsible for flattening manually.

The documentation also conflicts on news trading. A Futures-specific FAQ says it is allowed on Prime, but the current V5.08.26 terms classify opening or closing within two minutes of high-impact news as prohibited “news bracketing,” and the firm's main rules page repeats the restriction. The terms take precedence over the help center except for order-specific parameters. Until The Trading Pit reconciles those pages, trading that window carries avoidable breach risk.

Gap trading is prohibited when a position is opened within two hours of a closure lasting at least two hours with the intent to exploit the reopening gap. New positions or additions are also barred during a market halt and for one minute after the halt ends.

Scalping, automation and trading style

Ordinary Futures scalping is allowed, but micro-scalping is not. The policy describes micro-scalping as trades lasting roughly 10–15 seconds and flags a pattern when around 40% or more of profitable trades come from those ultra-short positions. Challenge accounts may receive a warning; on Earning accounts the associated profit can be removed, with repeated behavior risking a denied reward, failed upgrade or termination.

High-frequency, latency, reverse, hedge and rollover arbitrage are prohibited, as are emulators, delayed or external feed exploitation, account rolling and manipulation of platform errors. Personal EAs are allowed only if they do not perform those practices or copy signals that do not belong to the trader. Grid and martingale strategies are expressly prohibited.

The gambling policy is broad rather than purely numerical. It covers overleveraging, concentrated one-sided exposure, hyperactivity and position-size changes that do not resemble a consistent risk process. Using tiny trades merely to complete the three-day minimum is a stated example of a breach. This gives the risk team discretion beyond the visible drawdown limits.

A stop-loss is not mandatory on every trade, but the risk team may contact traders whose majority of positions have no stop and require them to start using one. That is especially relevant because the Daily Pause is not guaranteed to contain fast-market slippage.

Copy trading, hedging and account access

Manual or automated copy trading is allowed across up to five Futures Challenges or five Earning accounts, and an external master account is acceptable only when it belongs to the same trader. Copying other people or copying between a TTP Challenge and a TTP Earning account is prohibited.

Hedging for risk management inside one account is allowed, but opposite positions across two accounts are not. The ban also covers opposite positions in positively correlated instruments on separate accounts. TradersConnect and similar third-party tools are not allowed.

All trading must come from the account holder's personal device. Shared devices and multiple people accessing accounts from the same IP or network can trigger review or termination. Changing location or network and using a VPN are permitted, provided they are not used to hide shared or coordinated access.

Platforms, data and trading costs

The supported ecosystem includes Rithmic-based platforms, Tradovate and dxFeed options. Prime adds NinjaTrader and TradingView, while Sierra Chart, MotiveWave, Jigsaw and Volfix require the trader's own licence and receive no platform support. TradingView connects through Tradovate, not NinjaTrader. Several supported applications offer mobile access, but availability depends on the chosen data connection and country.

Level 1 top-of-book data for the main Chicago exchange is covered for users who certify as non-professional. The product page currently lists optional monthly packages of $12 for Level 1 across all US futures exchanges, $16 for Chicago Level 2, $41 for Level 2 across US exchanges, and €25 for European derivatives. Add-ons apply to the user rather than each account, expire at the end of every calendar month, and must be repurchased. Certifying as a professional with Rithmic instead can generate a $488 exchange invoice; failure to pay it within 72 hours can suspend the account.

Execution costs are charged per side and include both the firm's commission and exchange/NFA fees. The published commission component is generally $0.50 for standard or mini contracts and $0.20 for micros, with total costs varying by instrument. Those charges affect net P&L and therefore the Daily Pause, drawdown and qualifying reward days.

Eligibility, verification and contractual risk

Registration is limited to individuals aged 18 or over; corporate registrations and third-party payment methods are not accepted. KYC can be requested at any time and must be completed before the first reward. The current terms ask for a passport or national ID and proof of residence no more than 90 days old. The name on the account, purchase and reward destination must match. Futures availability also depends on residence and the selected data provider, with a separate restricted-country list that can change.

The most important legal caveat is in the current V5.08.26 terms. The advertised 80% is a maximum reward rate, not an unconditional contractual payout. The firm may reduce the rate—even to 0%—if it concludes that the trading data is not fully compliant, and it can consider conduct across current and previous Challenge and Earning accounts. Reviews generally finish within 14 calendar days; if one exceeds 30 days, the firm says it will provide a status update. A complaints process is available, but the discretion is materially wider than the short product card suggests.

Who The Trading Pit Futures suits

The strongest fit is a disciplined intraday futures trader who values an end-of-day trailing floor, a recoverable Daily Pause and broad professional-platform support. The absence of a subscription and activation fee on new Prime purchases keeps the headline route to an Earning account simple, while resets and extensions provide options when the 30-day clock becomes tight.

It is a weaker fit for traders who hold overnight, depend on news windows, micro-scalp, use shared trade-copying infrastructure or want payouts governed only by mechanical thresholds. The best-day adjustment, five-day reward qualification, 50% buffer limit, 1% payment fee and contractual compliance discretion all reward gradual performance. The unresolved conflicts on news trading, refund eligibility and liquidation times are the main reasons to obtain written confirmation before buying and to preserve the terms shown at checkout.
