Finotive has announced an update to its weekend holding policy for Instant Accounts, effective March 20, 2025, at 13:00 CET. From this date onwards, the option to hold open positions over the weekend will no longer be automatically included for new Instant Accounts (Standard & Lite) purchased.
Instead, weekend holding will be offered as an optional add-on, costing 20% of the account fee. This measure aims to balance trader flexibility with real market liquidity conditions, especially during periods of low liquidity and weekend gaps.
It is important to note that existing Instant Accounts will remain unaffected by this change and will retain weekend holding capabilities without an additional fee. For new accounts without this add-on, Finotive recommends closing all positions 10 minutes before the market closes for the weekend.
Failure to comply will result in a 'strike'. Each 'strike' will reduce the next payout to 10%. Accumulating three 'strikes' will lead to account termination. Finotive advises traders wishing to retain complimentary weekend holding to purchase their Instant Account before the deadline of March 20, 2025, at 13:00 CET.
