MentFunding Temporarily Adjusts Leverage on Gold, Indices, and Oil

leverage prop-firm commodities risk-management

MentFunding has implemented adjustments to leverage limits for key instruments, citing unusually high volatility throughout 2026. This measure aims to align risk exposure with current market behavior.

Current Leverage Limits

The firm has established the following ratios for active trades:

  • XAUUSD (Gold): 5:1
  • Indices: 5:1
  • Oil: 1:1

2026 Volatility Analysis

The adjustment is a response to the market doubling its typical daily range. In the case of gold, approximately one in five trading days this year has recorded an intraday range of 3% or more, representing 1.5 to 2 times the normal volatility levels.

Risk Management and Payouts

MentFunding links these risk control measures to its ability to maintain payout reliability. The firm reports that it has not refused a single payout since 2021, even processing payments on breached accounts, a track record they intend to protect through these temporary limits.

Restoration Outlook

These restrictions do not have a set end date, as they depend on market evolution. The firm monitors these symbols daily and will restore previous leverage levels as soon as volatility conditions allow.

Ment Funding Temporarily Reduces Leverage for CFD Metals and Indices

Ment Funding has implemented a temporary update to its risk measures in response to increased global market volatility. Effective Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 22:00 UTC (market open), the maximum leverage for CFD Metals and Indices will be reduced to 5:1. This adjustment applies to all Challenge and Funded accounts, encompassing existing positions and any new trades opened after the effective time. For users on DXTrade, cTrader, and GooeyPro, some accounts may exceed margin limits, potentially preventing new positions until exposure is reduced. On MatchTrader, new trades will automatically reflect the updated margin requirements. Ment Funding stated these measures are temporary and will be reviewed once market conditions stabilize. Other firms like Finotive Funding have also implemented similar margin adjustments recently due to global volatility.
