Time limits
Your trading pace is never entirely yours. At FundedNext, you are forbidden from passing the evaluation too quickly, as you must trade for at least 2 days (Stellar 1-Step/Lite) or 5 days (Stellar 2-Step). Once funded, you cannot simply wait for one big trade; you are forced to stay active to avoid the 60-day inactivity rule.
FundedVerse imposes even tighter constraints on your schedule. You cannot receive a payout unless you complete at least 15 trades per cycle. Furthermore, you are restricted by "minimum profitable days": you cannot count a day as valid for eligibility unless you achieve at least a 0.5% gain (Ultra/Instant) or 0.2% (Static). This prevents you from using small, symbolic trades to bypass their activity requirements.
Weekends and news
Market volatility is off-limits during high-impact events. At FundedNext, you cannot keep more than 40% of the profits generated from trades opened or closed within 5 minutes of high-impact news. This effectively nullifies the reward of news trading while leaving you with 100% of the risk.
FundedVerse goes further: you are strictly prohibited from opening or closing any position during the 10-minute news window (5 minutes before and after). If you do, your profits can be confiscated. Additionally, while you can hold positions over the weekend during evaluation, you are banned from doing so on funded and Instant accounts. No position on a funded account can exceed 72 hours, forcing you to close trades regardless of your strategy’s requirements.
Where you can trade from
Geography limits your access to these firms. FundedNext does not allow traders from the United States, Bangladesh, Vietnam, or North Korea, among others. If you reside in countries like Cambodia or Pakistan, you are restricted to a maximum allocation of only $50,000, regardless of your performance.
FundedVerse has a different set of prohibited zones. You cannot trade with them if you are in the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Iran, or several African nations like Somalia or Sudan. Their list of excluded countries is extensive, targeting regions with high regulatory or geopolitical risk.
What the platform limits
Your technical environment is heavily restricted. At FundedVerse, you are forbidden from using anything other than MetaTrader 5. You cannot use EAs or automation on Ultra funded or Instant accounts. Even where allowed, you cannot use a VPS for manual trading, and the firm reserves the right to demand your EA logic and files at any time.
FundedNext offers more platforms (MT4, MT5, cTrader, MatchTrader), but it restricts your strategy through costs. You cannot use EAs or a VPS without paying an additional 5% fee for each as an "add-on." Furthermore, you are prohibited from "stacking" trades and must always use a Stop Loss, limiting your ability to manage risk dynamically.
What the rules cost you
The price of entry is the first limit on your attempts. A $100,000 account at FundedNext (Stellar 2-Step) costs $549.99, and you cannot get a refund until your first payout (or third for Lite). Your breathing room is capped by a balance-based daily drawdown, which restricts your intraday equity fluctuations.
At FundedVerse, the $100,000 Trailing account costs $527, but the "Pay Later" model is a trap for the undercapitalized: you pay only $29 initially, but you cannot activate the funded account without paying the full $649 fee later. Most importantly, you cannot rely on a fixed floor; the trailing drawdown moves up with your peak equity, meaning your "safety zone" disappears as you make profits. You are also limited by a payout processing fee of up to 3.5%.
Restrictions that add up
The combined effect of these rules creates a narrow path to success. At FundedVerse, the 15-trade minimum payout requirement, combined with the rule that excludes profits from trades held less than 4 minutes, prevents you from quickly fulfilling your obligations. You are forced into a cycle of constant, mid-term trading that exposes you to more market risk.
At FundedNext, the scaling plan is designed to keep you locked in: you cannot scale your capital until you have received at least 4 payouts and achieved a 4% growth in each of those four cycles. This means you are restricted to your initial balance for months, regardless of how much profit you generate, effectively capping your earning potential during your most productive periods.
Frequently asked questions
Which firm is more restrictive for US-based traders, FundedNext or FundedVerse?
FundedNext is completely off-limits for US residents, as the United States is explicitly listed in their banned countries. FundedVerse, however, does not list the US in its restricted countries (though it bans the UAE and Russia), making it the only option between the two for traders in that region.
Which firm imposes a higher trade volume requirement to get paid, FundedNext or FundedVerse?
FundedVerse is significantly more demanding, as it prohibits payouts unless you complete at least 15 trades per cycle and meet minimum profitable day thresholds (0.2% to 0.5% growth). FundedNext has no minimum trade count for the funded phase, only requiring 2 to 5 trading days during the evaluation phase.
Which firm offers less platform variety, FundedNext or FundedVerse?
FundedVerse is the most limited, restricting all traders to MetaTrader 5 only. In contrast, FundedNext allows you to choose between MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, MatchTrader, and TradingView, though some platforms are restricted by region (e.g., MatchTrader for US-based clients of other firms).
Which firm has a more punishing drawdown rule, FundedNext or FundedVerse?
FundedVerse is generally more punishing because most of its plans use a trailing drawdown based on peak equity, which means the maximum loss limit follows your profits upward and never retreats. FundedNext uses a static drawdown for its Stellar accounts, which provides a fixed floor and more breathing room as your account grows.
