Where you trade
The trading environment is the primary interface between the trader and the market. Hola Prime offers a diverse range of four platforms: Metatrader 5, cTrader, MatchTrader, and TradeLocker. This selection caters to both traditional algorithmic traders and those seeking modern web-based interfaces.
Lark Funding provides three options: DXTrade, cTrader, and MatchTrader. While they lack MT5, their inclusion of DXTrade offers a specialized experience often preferred by traders looking for advanced charting and a cleaner interface compared to legacy platforms.
Who executes your orders
Execution quality depends on the bridge to the market. Hola Prime utilizes its own entity, Hola Prime Markets, providing an integrated ecosystem. This usually results in a more controlled environment regarding spreads and order filling.
Lark Funding routes its operations through an undisclosed Liquidity Provider. This setup is common in the industry, focusing on institutional-grade execution without tying the firm to a specific retail brokerage brand.
Leverage and margin
Risk management is technically defined by the relationship between leverage and the account's stop-out level.
- Hola Prime: Offers aggressive leverage of up to 100:1 on Forex for Pro accounts and 50:1 for Prime and Direct models. Crypto is limited to 2:1. Their risk engine monitors a daily loss limit of 3% to 5% depending on the plan.
- Lark Funding: Provides 50:1 leverage for most accounts, though the 1-Step Career model is limited to 30:1. A key technical differentiator is their margin policy: they have a 110% margin call and a 100% stop out level. Their 3-Step program is unique as it has no daily loss limit, focusing only on a 5% static max drawdown.
Markets available
Both firms offer the core assets required by professional traders, including Forex, Indices, Commodities, and Crypto. Lark Funding adds an extra layer of diversification by including Stocks (with 5:1 leverage), which is a significant advantage for equity-focused traders.
What the setup lets you do
The rules define the technical limits of your strategy:
- Expert Advisors (EAs): Lark Funding allows them across the board. Hola Prime allows them only on MT5 and requires a 10% surcharge add-on; they are strictly prohibited on their Direct accounts.
- News Trading: Lark Funding is fully permissive. Hola Prime permits it on Prime and evaluations, but strictly prohibits opening or closing trades 5 minutes around high-impact news on Pro Sim and Direct accounts.
- Stop Loss: Both firms technically require a Stop Loss. On Hola Prime, failing to set one is considered "unlimited risk" and can lead to closure. Lark Funding allows you to bypass this rule if you purchase a 10% add-on at checkout.
What the setup costs
Execution costs and entry fees determine the trader's "break-even" point:
- Challenge Entry: Hola Prime has a very low entry barrier with a $2,000 account starting at just $9. Lark Funding starts at $99 for a $10,000 account (1-Step Max).
- Commissions: Hola Prime is significantly cheaper for high-frequency traders, charging $3 per lot on Forex. Lark Funding charges more than double at $7 per lot.
- Payouts: Hola Prime charges a 2.5% fee per payout (minimum $50). Lark Funding charges a flat $40 via Rise (minimum $100). Hola Prime offers a 100% refund of the fee on the 4th payout for Pro/Prime, while Lark Funding does not offer refunds.
Better setup for
- Hola Prime is the better setup for low-budget traders and scalpers who need the lowest possible commissions ($3/lot) and access to MT5.
- Lark Funding is the better setup for swing traders and news traders who want to avoid daily loss limits (via the 3-Step plan) and require more flexibility with EAs and fundamental volatility.
