Maximum trading days

No time limit. The challenge must be activated within 30 days of purchase.

Minimum profitable days

Funded account: 7 of the 14 minimum days. In evaluation, the FAQ and its comparisons ask for 2 profitable days; the rules page says 2 trading days.

2 Phase Challenge.

Three-step challenge

On request from the dashboard, after several profitable periods on a funded account. Decided case by case based on consistency and rule compliance, at no cost.

Free trial

Free Trial 10K, no card needed: 8% target, 5% daily and 10% total loss, no mandatory stop loss. One per email every 30 days; after passing, the account stays open for 24 hours and pays nothing.

Expert Advisor (EA)

Allowed if declared. Undeclared EAs, HFT and abusive AI are prohibited.

Mandatory stop loss

Mandatory when opening and closing every trade. One trade without a stop is tolerated; the second one suspends the account. Can be removed with the paid add-on.

Who is behind Top Trader Prime

A "French prop firm" run by a US company

Top Trader Prime sells itself as a French prop firm, with French as its main language and French-speaking support seven days a week. The contracting company, however, is Toptraderprime LLC (EIN 36-4964599), headquartered at 36 South 18th Avenue, Brighton, Colorado. The address in Joué-lès-Tours, France, is only a representative address: the legal notice says it is not open to the public and that management, administration and direction are carried out exclusively from the US head office. The terms are governed by Colorado law, and any dispute goes exclusively to the courts of Brighton.

Card payments are not collected by the LLC itself. A UK company, Belaz Ltd (71-75 Shelton Street, London), collects them on its behalf through a third-party payment provider and then transfers the money to Toptraderprime LLC. This is why a bank statement may show a different name from the brand.

Everything is simulated

All accounts, including funded ones, are demo accounts with virtual funds. The terms describe the service as educational and simulation-based, with no real capital managed. Fees are not deposits: they pay for staff, development and operating costs. Payouts are the company's way of rewarding performance on a simulated account. The site claims more than 15,000 funded traders in over 180 countries and more than €4.52M paid out; these are the firm's own marketing figures.

Support is offered by email (24 to 48 hours for non-urgent requests), a Telegram bot, a live chat inside the client area handled first by an AI assistant called Sofie that can escalate to a human, support tickets with attachments, and bookable Calendly calls.

The three programs

All programs use the same core risk limits. What changes is how you reach a funded account and how profits are shared.

1 Phase and 2 Phases challenges

The 1 Phase challenge has a single profit target; the 2 Phases challenge has two consecutive targets and costs slightly less. Accounts go from $25K to $1M, and one client can hold several at once up to $3M of combined capital. Once the target is reached without breaking a rule, the account moves automatically to the next phase or to funded status.

There is no time limit to pass, and the evaluation requires 2 trading days. Two details are easy to miss:

  • The challenge must be activated within 30 calendar days of purchase. Otherwise, access is suspended.
  • The FAQ and the firm's comparison pages speak of 2 profitable days, while the rules page and the shop say 2 trading days.

The challenge fee is refunded once you pass: 50% with the first eligible payout and 50% with the second. The forum adds two conditions: it applies to accounts opened from 6 August 2025, and the first payout must be at least 1% of the account size. The shop table simply says "100% refunded", without these nuances.

Instant Funding

Instant Funding gives a funded account immediately, with no evaluation, in sizes from $50K to $1M. It comes with three differences:

  • Profit cap of 15% of the capital. The documentation does not say whether it applies per payout cycle or over the life of the account.
  • A later first payout. The rules page says the first payout comes after 20 days; every product page says 4 weeks. After that, payouts are every 14 days.
  • A lower profit split ladder. It starts at 50% and rises by 5 points per payout up to 70% on the fifth, then jumps to 90% from the sixth. The challenge ladder starts at 70% and reaches 90% on the fifth payout.

The fee refund is tied to passing a challenge, so it does not apply to Instant accounts.

The checkout

Prices are in euros, while account sizes are in dollars. Each account is a one-time payment, with no monthly subscription. The checkout is built into the site, not a separate shop. It lets you buy several units of the same account, offers an upgrade to the next size for that size's own price, and accepts promo codes, including a type that discounts a second account. Every product page describes access to the account as "lifetime". Two add-ons are calculated on the price: news trading (+20%) and no mandatory stop loss (+30%). You can pay by card (Visa, Mastercard) or crypto: USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, USDC on ERC-20, Bitcoin, Ethereum and TRON.

The site has product pages for a $500K 2 Phases challenge and a $500K Instant account, and the affiliate page lists them too. Those pages charge the $300K price and use the same purchase link as the $300K account, and the shop does not offer 500K. They look like a site error rather than a real product.

Free Trial 10K

There is a free $10,000 trial account, with no payment and no card. It has an 8% target, a 5% daily loss limit and a 10% total loss limit, and no mandatory stop loss. You can request one per email address every 30 days. After passing, the account stays accessible for 24 hours and never pays anything: it is meant to test the platform and rules before buying.

Drawdown and per-trade limits

How the two drawdowns are measured

Both limits are measured against the initial capital, not the current balance. The daily limit therefore does not grow as the account makes money, and the overall limit is static: it never trails.

The daily limit includes floating losses. According to the forum, the starting balance for each day is recorded at the first trade after midnight UTC. Breaching either limit suspends the account. The FAQ says a new evaluation then has to be bought and mentions a 10% code, TOPTRADER10, for that purchase.

The forum also describes a paid reset from the dashboard's Upsell module:

  • In the challenge: about 50% of the plan price, back to phase 1 or 2.
  • On a funded account: the full plan price, keeping funded status.

The team applies the reset, usually within 24 hours. The forum adds that, depending on the case, a breached trader may be offered a reset at a preferential price or a direct move to phase 2.

A cap on every trade

On top of the drawdowns, each position has its own limits:

  • Maximum loss of 2% per trade.
  • Maximum profit of 3% per trade.

The forum explains that beyond these limits the position can be closed on the server and the trade treated as non-compliant. A large winning trade can therefore be as much of a problem as a large loss.

Volume consistency

A rule on lot sizes applies to every challenge and funded account. A new position may not be more than twice, nor less than a quarter of, the largest volume already used on the account. For example, if your largest trade so far was 1 lot, you can only trade between 0.25 and 2 lots. If it was 5 lots, the range becomes 1.25 to 10. Sudden jumps or drops in size are not allowed, so opening an account with a tiny trade and then sizing up quickly will break the rule.

Leverage and margin

Leverage is 1:100 on forex, indices and commodities, with three exceptions at 1:50 (Nikkei 225, ASX 200 and palladium), 1:20 on US stocks and 1:10 on crypto. The forum notes that margin requirements can jump during news, when spreads widen.

Stop loss, news and trading hours

Mandatory stop loss

A stop loss is mandatory when opening and when closing every position. The first trade without one is tolerated as a warning. From the second, the account is suspended. You can move the stop loss after opening but not remove it. Take profit is optional. The only way around the rule is the no-stop-loss add-on bought at checkout.

News

Without the news add-on, you may not open or close a position, including a stop loss or take profit being hit, from 10 minutes before to 10 minutes after any 3 star release on the TradingView calendar. This covers every currency and every symbol, not only the instruments linked to the release. A position opened before the release and held through it remains compliant. Times are given in Paris time with the UTC equivalent.

Even with trades that respect the window, the forum lists "profit mainly from trades executed during major economic releases" as a reason to refuse a payout.

Weekends and market hours

Holding positions over the weekend is allowed. Markets are closed on Saturday and Sunday, and a position cannot be opened or closed outside its symbol's hours. Forex trades 24 hours from Monday to Friday; metals follow European and US sessions; indices and energies have shorter hours.

Inactivity

An account is closed after 15 consecutive days without trading, and suspended after 40 days in loss. One forum post gives different figures (inactive at 14 days, possible closure at 30). It also says an open position counts as activity and that support applies a tolerance for planned absences if told in advance.

What you cannot do

Prohibited strategies

The rules prohibit:

  • Martingale, grid trading and aggressive averaging down.
  • Hedging, including opposite positions across accounts.
  • Gap trading around major events or near market closes.
  • Latency and quote arbitrage.

Scalping and HFT are defined by time and size: trades closed in under 100 seconds, or aiming at under 1.5 pips, count as prohibited scalping. The terms add that repeated trades capturing 2 pips or less may be reviewed by the risk team.

Prohibited behaviour

The terms also list:

  • Exploiting price errors, latency or platform bugs.
  • Using external or delayed data feeds.
  • Market manipulation, alone or with other accounts.
  • Over-leverage, overexposure and one-directional bets without analysis.
  • Gambling-like behaviour.
  • Account rolling, meaning opening many accounts and letting some fail on purpose.
  • Letting someone else trade, sharing, lending or selling the account.

Expert Advisors are allowed as long as they are declared and do not run a prohibited strategy. VPNs and VPSs are strictly prohibited: detecting one, or HFT, leads to immediate suspension.

Sanctions for exploiting flaws

Taking advantage of an off-market quote, a spread or liquidity glitch, or a malfunction of the margin, P&L or drawdown engine has graded sanctions:

  • Balance reset for a minor case.
  • Systematic cancellation of the trades involved.
  • Final closure for repeat offences.
  • Invalidation of pending payouts.
  • Reporting to partner prop firms for clear fraud.

The terms say these decisions are final and without appeal. The forum, however, says any breach decision can be contested by ticket, with an answer within 72 hours and the account restored at no cost if the error was the firm's.

Copy trading

The platform has its own copy tool: you can copy a public trader or your own master account onto other accounts, in proportional, identical or fixed-risk mode, with a default risk of 1%. Traders who opt into "Be copied" accept that their equity curve, profit, drawdown, win rate and trade history appear publicly. They may not use martingale, grid or aggressive averaging. Copying stops automatically if their drawdown exceeds 5% from their peak.

For payouts, copied profit can be at most 50% of the eligible profit: at least half must come from your own trading. Copying between linked accounts (same identity, same KYC or same payment methods) does not count.

Payouts

When you can request one

Funded accounts can request a payout every 14 days. Before the first one, the account needs 14 trading days, including 7 profitable days. A day only counts if a position is opened and closed on that same day; positions still open at the end of the day do not count. If a payout request is refused, the trading day counter resets to zero. The forum mentions a "payout with no minimum days" option in the dashboard that removes this requirement for one request.

Consistency rules

Two consistency rules are checked at the payout request:

  • 25% per trade. No single trade may represent more than 25% of the account's total profit. If it does, the payout is held until other trades rebalance the distribution, rather than the account failing. One FAQ answer describes this rule per trading day instead of per trade.
  • 80% per instrument. No single instrument may represent more than 80% of the profit, so gains have to come from at least two instruments. This rule appears only in the forum.

Other refusal reasons listed are missing stop losses, profit mostly made during major news and suspected manipulation or undeclared copy trading. Two non-compliant payout requests in a row may lead to suspension.

Methods, minimum and timing

Payouts are paid by bank transfer, PayPal (only in some regions) and crypto. The forum lists USDT and Bitcoin; the FAQ adds USDC and Ethereum. The minimum is $100 or the equivalent in euros, and network or bank fees are paid by the trader.

The firm promises payment within 14 days of the request at most. Once the request is approved:

  • In general: 24 to 72 business hours, with USDT often within 24 hours.
  • Bank transfer: up to 5 business days, depending on the bank.

Every request goes through an automatic and then manual review of the trading history. The FAQ gives a shorter estimate of 1 to 3 business days overall.

KYC

No payout is processed without KYC. You need:

  • An ID card, passport or driving licence.
  • A proof of address under 3 months old.
  • A selfie holding the ID.

Verification is done by QR code or SMS. Review is manual and takes 24 to 48 business hours, up to 72 at busy times. Risk profiles may be asked for enhanced checks, including a video call.

All your accounts are linked

All of a client's accounts are treated as one. The firm may offset losses on one account against gains on another without notice. For example, a €20,000 loss on account A and a €15,000 profit on account B leave a combined balance of -€5,000, and no withdrawal is possible. You have 30 days to contest an offset.

Refunds, chargebacks and restricted countries

All payments are final. A purchase is only refunded if requested within 7 days of registration with no trading activity, and never once an account is funded. By executing the first trade, the client accepts that the service has started and gives up the legal withdrawal period. Ending the relationship by email means losing access to all services. Opening a bank dispute or chargeback suspends the account immediately, and permanently if the dispute is unjustified. Reactivation requires withdrawing the dispute with proof, with a 45 to 60 business day delay.

The service is for adults over 18. US nationals and residents cannot sign up, nor can residents of countries under OFAC or UN sanctions, including Russia, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Myanmar and Cuba. A forum post adds Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.

The FAQ reminds traders that payouts may be taxable in their country of residence; for French residents it describes them as business income rather than capital gains and recommends an accountant. The privacy policy states that your phone number can be used for marketing messages, including automated AI messages, and that data is shared with partner trading platforms.

Platform and instruments

Trading happens on Top Trader Prime's own web terminal, built on TradingView charts and usable in the browser and on mobile. There is no MetaTrader or cTrader. It offers 47 instruments:

  • 18 forex pairs.
  • 8 indices, including Nasdaq 100, S&P 500, DAX 40, CAC 40, Nikkei 225 and ASX 200.
  • 8 commodities, including gold, silver, WTI and Brent oil, natural gas, copper, platinum and palladium.
  • 8 cryptocurrencies.
  • 5 US stocks: Apple, Tesla, NVIDIA, Microsoft and Amazon.

There is no commission per lot. One forum post mentions that a challenge may have a "custom spread" that changes the execution price at opening and closing.

The client area includes a gamification system: Prime Coins earned through trading, a Prime Club, a Prime Store to spend them on badges and profile items, and a public leaderboard with possible bonuses for the top positions. Scaling to a larger funded account is possible on request through the dashboard after several profitable periods. It is decided case by case based on consistency and rule compliance, has no purchase cost, and gets an answer within 24 to 48 hours.

Where the documentation contradicts itself

Top Trader Prime publishes its rules in several places that do not always agree. The rules page, the FAQ, the terms and the forum posts dated 30 July 2026 are consistent with each other. A batch of forum posts dated 29 July 2026 gives different values:

  • A fixed 80/20 profit split.
  • A 5% daily and 10% trailing overall drawdown.
  • A 60-day deadline to finish a challenge.
  • No minimum trade duration.

These match none of the other sources. Other differences to keep in mind:

  • The first Instant payout at 20 days or 4 weeks.
  • The 25% rule per trade or per day.
  • 2 trading days or 2 profitable days in evaluation.
  • A forum post placing the 14 days with 7 profitable days inside the challenge rather than on the funded account.
  • The firm's comparison pages saying scalping is allowed apart from HFT under 100 seconds.
  • The FAQ speaking of 50+ forex pairs, while the markets page lists 18.
  • The affiliate page promising a "second chance", with a warning instead of automatic closure when a rule is broken, while the rules suspend accounts automatically on a breach.
  • An older blog post giving a 5% target for phase 2.

When in doubt, the rules page and the terms are the most complete sources.

Who Top Trader Prime suits

Top Trader Prime suits French-speaking traders who want support in their language, simple targets and static drawdowns measured on the initial capital. It also fits traders who hold positions over the weekend and trade with a disciplined, regular position size and stops on every trade. The fee refund over the first two payouts and the absence of a time limit help traders who are patient.

It suits scalpers, news traders and anyone who sizes up aggressively much less. Trades under 100 seconds are prohibited, the news window covers every symbol, and each trade is capped at 2% loss and 3% profit. Payouts also require 14 trading days and must pass two consistency rules. Instant Funding costs more than a challenge of the same size (three times as much at $100K), caps profit at 15% and starts at a 50% split. Before buying, it is worth reading the rules page and the terms, given how many internal contradictions the firm's own documentation contains.
