3Commas review

Researched and written by TheGodFunded2 min read

3Commas is a bot platform for crypto exchanges: DCA bots (buying in tranches), grid and signal bots, smart trades with stop and target, and TradingView alert execution. It has been around for years, but 2026 is proving difficult.

We read its pricing page and 624 of its 1,763 Trustpilot reviews.

Two important warnings

  • The move to V2 (September 2026). 3Commas has forced customers onto a new version. Many say they lost their running bots and trades, that V2 has fewer features and that their fee went up.
  • The API key leak (December 2022). Dozens of users reported on Trustpilot that their exchange accounts were emptied using the API keys they had stored in 3Commas. If you use it, create keys without withdrawal permission and IP-restricted if your exchange allows it.

For prop firms

3Commas only trades on crypto exchanges. Before connecting it to a crypto prop firm account, check its rules: in our profiles, 21 of 85 firms forbid automation and 18 limit it, and several crypto firms explicitly forbid third-party bots.

Pricing

Plan Monthly Paying yearly What it includes
Starter $20 $15 Core spot bots, on one exchange
Pro $50 $38 Spot and futures, 5 API keys per exchange, 20 DCA, 20 signal and 10 grid bots
Expert $140 $105 Highest limits and API trading

What users say

3Commas scores 3.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot, from 1,763 reviews, and Trustpilot shows a high-risk investment notice. Our review analysis above breaks it down.

  • What people like: easy-to-set-up bots and good TradingView integration.
  • V2, the complaint in almost every September 2026 review.
  • Losses with bots and subscription problems.
  • The 2022 leak, with users losing tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Verdict

3Commas was for years a benchmark for automating crypto trading, but the 2022 leak and the forced 2026 migration weigh heavily. If you want to automate crypto, try it with little money and API keys without withdrawal permission.

Who it is for: crypto traders who want DCA or grid bots on exchanges and accept the risks.

Who it is not for: futures or forex prop firm traders, and anyone unwilling to give API keys to a third party.

Alternatives

  • Cornix: automates Telegram crypto signals.
  • TradersPost: TradingView alerts to futures and crypto.

What people say about 3Commas on Trustpilot

We read 624 of its 1763 reviews (the 200 most recent of each 1 to 4 star rating and the 5 star ones among the most recent, from 2019 to 2026), on 9 October 2026.

3.4 Trustpilot score
2.8 Based on what they say
Features 3.8

DCA, grid and signal bots, smart trades, Pine Script execution and TradingView webhooks on many crypto exchanges. V1 users say V2 has lost features.

See review
★★★★★“The DCA bot setup is straightforward, webhook integration with TradingView works well”
Reliability 2.4

Two blows: in December 2022, dozens of users reported stolen funds after 3Commas API keys leaked; and in September 2026, the mandatory move to the new version (V2) lost running bots and trades.

See review
★★★★★“None of my 100+ bots were preserved—I have to start everything from scratch”
Value for money 2.8

Prices from $20 to $140 a month. Long-time customers say V2 raised their fee, and lifetime subscribers feel misled.

See review
★★★★★“The forced switch to v2 not only increased my subscription cost from £36/year to $180/year it also stripped 90% of the functionality.”
Ease of use 3.0

The old version was liked; V2 is criticised as unintuitive and for forcing users to start from scratch.

See review
★★★★★“V2 is completely unintuitive to use and doesnt even have all the existing functionality of V1.”
Support 2.6

It replies to many reviews, but during the 2026 migration there are complaints of weeks without a reply.

Transparency 2.4

Trustpilot shows a high-risk investment notice. Its handling of the 2022 leak and the 2026 migration damaged its reputation.
