Our review

TipRanks review

Researched and written by TheGodFunded2 min read

TipRanks gathers what analysts, insiders, funds and bloggers recommend about each stock, and ranks each of them by how accurate they have been in the past. From that it calculates its Smart Score, a 1 to 10 rating for each stock. It is designed for stock investors, mainly in the US.

We read its plans page and 419 of its 1,584 Trustpilot reviews.

What it offers

  • Analyst ratings and price targets, with an accuracy ranking.
  • Insider buying and selling, fund moves and investor sentiment.
  • Smart Score, AI analysis, financials, dividends and earnings.
  • A stock screener, news and portfolio tracking.
  • On Ultimate: risk analysis, full rankings, unlimited email alerts and PDF and CSV export.

It runs on the web and a mobile app.

Source: TipRanks plans page, checked on 9 October 2026. It is billed yearly only. There is currently 70% off the first year ($9 and $15 a month); renewal is at list price.

  • A 30-day guarantee on the yearly plan: you have to request it by email within that period.

What users say

It scores 4.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot, from 1,584 reviews. Our review analysis above breaks it down.

  • The best: seeing at a glance what the most accurate analysts think.
  • The worst in 2026: support that takes days to reply, and tricky cancellations and refunds.
  • The free plan has lots of ads, including ones selling other, pricier services.

For prop firms

TipRanks is for medium and long-term stock investing. It gives no data for intraday trading and does not cover forex or futures, so it has no practical use at a prop firm.

Verdict

TipRanks is useful for investors who want to know what the most accurate analysts think before buying a stock. The free plan is enough for a look. If you pay, remember it is a full year and renewal is at full price.

Who it is for: US stock investors.

Who it is not for: intraday traders and prop firm traders.

What people say about TipRanks on Trustpilot

We read 419 of its 1584 reviews (the 200 most recent plus every 1 to 4 star review), on 9 October 2026.

4.2 Trustpilot score
3.5 Based on what they say
Features 4.0

Its strength is knowing what analysts, insiders, funds and bloggers recommend, and how accurately. Its Smart Score is its best-known tool. Some miss data on markets outside the US.

Reliability 3.6

It works for most. There are complaints about saved screeners disappearing, portfolios not loading and quotes running several minutes behind the broker.

See review
★★★★★“The so-called real-time quotes trail my broker's screen by ten to fifteen minutes”
Value for money 3.3

It is billed yearly only. There are complaints about renewals, 30-day guarantee refunds being denied and constant ads selling other, more expensive services.

See review
★★★★★“I can see 30 days money back guarantee . But they rejected the refund”
Ease of use 4.1

Users like the design and how easy it is to see what the best analysts think of a stock. The free app annoys with its amount of ads.

See review
★★★★★“It's helpful to be able to screen stocks by top analysts (vs all analysts).”
Support 2.9

It is the most repeated complaint in 2026: unanswered emails and access problems that take days. In earlier years there was more praise for support.

See review
★★★★★“You would think woth a $300 plus subscription they would actually work with you, answer questions”
Transparency 3.4

It explains how it ranks analysts and warns that its Smart Score is based on past data. But six in ten reviews we read arrive through direct links, with peaks in 2023 and 2025.
