Benzinga Pro review

Researched and written by TheGodFunded2 min read

Benzinga Pro is a real-time financial news service for active traders: headlines from over 1,000 sources, a live audio feed that reads out what matters while you trade ("squawk"), a stock scanner and calendars. It is used mainly by US stock day traders who need to hear about news before everyone else.

We read its pricing page and 358 of Benzinga Pro's 753 Trustpilot reviews.

What it offers

  • Instant news, with filters by price, volume or company size (from Streamlined).
  • Live audio narrating market-moving news (from Streamlined). An extra high-volatility stocks squawk costs $99 a month.
  • A real-time scanner, unusual activity signals and insider buying (Essential plan).
  • Calendars for earnings, economic data and other events (Essential plan).
  • AI that analyses news and finds opportunities, and a community with live traders (Essential plan).
  • Alerts for your watchlist.

Watch the 14-day free trial: it asks for a card and, if you do not cancel in time, it charges automatically. Several reviews describe charges one day late that were not refunded, and some add-ons included without noticing.

What users say

It scores 2.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot, from 753 reviews. Our review analysis above breaks it down.

  • The best: the speed of the news, the audio and the scanner.
  • The worst: charges after the trial, refused refunds and support that is hard to reach.
  • Pushy sales: many complain about calls, texts and emails to upgrade.

For prop firms

In our profiles, 11 of 85 firms forbid news trading and 25 limit it. For that you only need to know when high-impact news is due, which any free economic calendar gives you. Benzinga Pro suits anyone trading US company news, but adds little for a forex or futures prop firm trader.

How to use it well

  1. Note the date the trial ends and cancel a couple of days before.
  2. Check what you tick when signing up, so you do not add extras.
  3. Keep the cancellation in writing.
  4. Start with Basic if you only want the news.

Verdict

Benzinga Pro is one of the fastest news services for US stocks, with a live audio feed that is very useful for day trading. But it is expensive, its free trial ends in charges many people did not expect, and for a forex or futures prop firm trader it is overkill.

Who it is for: US stock day traders who trade news and catalysts.

Who it is not for: forex or futures prop firm traders, who have enough with an economic calendar.

Alternatives

  • Finviz: stock screener and news, with a free plan.

What people say about Benzinga Pro on Trustpilot

We read 358 of its 753 reviews (the 200 most recent plus every 1 to 4 star review), on 9 October 2026.

2.6 Trustpilot score
3.0 Based on what they say
Features 4.0

Real-time news from over 1,000 sources, live audio, a scanner, calendars, unusual activity signals and AI. It is very weak on charting.

See review
★★★★★“excellent for active day traders who need fast headlines, audio squawk, and unusual activity alerts, but it's relatively expensive, light on charting”
Reliability 3.4

News arrives fast and that is what is most valued. Technical complaints are about scanners that do not save their settings, alerts that are hard to enable and some live audio outages.

See review
★★★★★“Scanners settings do not stay saved. Had to reset them every freakin”
Value for money 2.2

The 14-day free trial turns into a charge automatically, sometimes with add-ons included, and refunds are hard to get. The good plans cost over $140 a month.

See review
★★★★★“I receive a notification I was charged $199 for PRO, and $99 for a service ca[lled]”
Ease of use 3.3

For those who know what they are looking for it is very complete; for newcomers, a flood of news that is hard to filter. Several do not understand which plan includes what.

See review
★★★★★“If you have not whittled down your list of companies to the few you want, the flood of information is way too much”
Support 2.4

The most repeated complaint: a chat that does not connect, a phone nobody answers and emails replied to with another product offer. Many five-star reviews are about calls with a salesperson.

See review
★★★★★“they reply trying to sell you stuff without reading your email or addressing your requests.”
Transparency 2.6

It publishes its prices, but many complain about pushy sales by phone, text and email, and about not knowing what the trial included. A third of the reviews we read arrive through automatic invitations.
