What you are signing up for
A prop firm evaluation is a test where you trade with simulated capital to prove you are a disciplined trader. If you pass, the firm shares a percentage of the profits you generate. Both firms offer "Challenges" with one or two phases.
The cost depends on the account size you choose:
- To start with $5,000, FunderPro charges $69 for its Classic evaluation.
- Hola Prime is cheaper for beginners, offering a $5,000 account for $39 in its 2-Step Prime model.
- Neither firm offers a free trial, which is a risk-free demo account to practice before paying. You must pay the fee from the start.
How hard each one is
Dificulty is measured by the profit target, which is the amount of money you must earn to pass, and the drawdown, which is the maximum loss allowed before you are disqualified.
- FunderPro Classic requires a 10% profit in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2. Its drawdown is "fixed," meaning your loss limit stays at a specific number based on your starting balance.
- Hola Prime Prime 2-Step also requires 8% and 5% profit. Its drawdown is a "static floor," which is similar to FunderPro as it does not move upward as you make profits during the evaluation.
- Both firms allow a maximum total loss of 10% and a daily loss of 5%. If you lose $500 in a single day on a $10,000 account, you fail.
How long it takes
In the past, firms forced you to pass in 30 days. Now, both FunderPro and Hola Prime have no maximum trading days. You can take a year to pass if you need to.
- FunderPro requires a minimum number of trading days that you must check on your dashboard.
- Hola Prime requires 2 trading days for Pro and 3 days for Prime 2-Step. A trading day counts as any day you open at least one position.
- If you are in a hurry, FunderPro offers an "Instant" account where you skip the test, but the rules are much stricter.
Where beginners fail
Beginners often fail due to the "consistency rule," which prevents you from hitting your entire goal with one lucky trade. They also fail due to "inactivity rules."
- FunderPro has no consistency rule for its Classic accounts. However, if you don't trade for 30 days, you lose the account.
- Hola Prime is stricter. It requires a Stop Loss (an automatic order to close a trade at a certain loss) on all funded accounts. If you forget to set one, you can lose your account.
- Hola Prime also has a 40% consistency rule for on-demand payouts. This means no single day should account for more than 40% of your total profit.
What happens if you make it
If you pass the evaluation, you become a "funded trader." This is where you start earning real money.
- Both firms give you an 80% profit split. This means if you earn $1,000, you keep $800.
- FunderPro pays every 14 days. They refund your initial fee with your first payout.
- Hola Prime also pays every 14 days by default. However, they only refund your fee after your fourth successful payout.
- FunderPro uses Rise and Crypto for payments. Hola Prime adds bank transfers to those options.
If it is your first time
If you have a very small budget, Hola Prime is the better choice because its $5,000 account costs only $39, nearly half of FunderPro's price.
However, for a total beginner, FunderPro is generally safer. They do not force you to use a Stop Loss, and their rules are simpler to understand without the risk of losing your account over a technicality. FunderPro also returns your investment much faster (on the first payout) than Hola Prime (on the fourth).

FunderPro is significantly faster as they refund your challenge fee with your very first successful payout. Hola Prime requires more consistency, only returning your initial fee once you reach your fourth successful payout from the same account.
