What you are signing up for
A trading evaluation is a test where you trade with simulated money to prove you are profitable. If you pass, you get access to a funded account where you keep a portion of the gains.
- Hola Prime Futures uses a subscription model. You pay a fee every 30 days until you pass the test or cancel. For example, a $50K account costs $159 per month.
- Top One Futures offers different paths. Some are monthly subscriptions like "Elite Challenge," but others like "Elite Access" cost only $39 upfront plus an activation fee once you pass.
How hard each one is
The difficulty is defined by two main numbers: the profit target and the drawdown. The profit target is the amount of money you must earn to pass. The drawdown is the maximum loss allowed before your account is closed.
- At Hola Prime, most targets are 6%. Their drawdown is "trailing," meaning the loss limit follows your highest end-of-day balance. If you earn $1,000, your allowed loss limit also moves up by $1,000.
- Top One also has 6% targets on many plans. However, they have a "10-second rule" which means trades must stay open for more than 10 seconds. They also have "hard breaches" for daily losses, meaning if you lose a specific amount in one day, the account is immediately failed.
How long it takes
For a beginner, knowing how much time you have is vital.
- Hola Prime has no minimum or maximum trading days. You can take as long as you need, provided you keep paying the monthly subscription.
- Top One also has no time limit on most plans. Some plans like "Elite Access" allow you to pass in just 1 day if you reach the target. However, their "S2F" plan requires at least 10 trading days to prove you weren't just lucky.
Where beginners fail
Beginners usually fail because of the consistency rule and the trailing drawdown. The consistency rule prevents you from making all your profit in a single lucky day; it requires your gains to be spread out.
- Hola Prime has a 40% consistency rule. This means no single day can account for more than 40% of your total profit. If you make too much in one day, you must keep trading to increase your total profit until that "big day" represents less than 40%.
- Top One has different consistency rules depending on the plan, ranging from 15% to 50%. They also have an inactivity rule: if you don't trade for 14 days, you lose the account. Hola Prime requires at least one trade every 7 days.
What happens if you make it
If you pass, you move to a "sim funded" stage. Both firms offer a 90% profit split, meaning you keep 90 cents of every dollar earned.
- Hola Prime uses platforms like NinjaTrader and Tradovate. Withdrawals can be requested every seven days, but there are "caps" (maximum limits) on how much you can take out during your first four withdrawals.
- Top One offers platforms like Quantower and WealthCharts. Depending on the plan, you might have daily payouts or specific cycles. They also have a path to a "Live" account with real capital after you show consistency in the simulated funded stage.
If it is your first time
If you are a complete beginner, Top One Futures is often more attractive because of the "Elite Access" plan. It allows you to start for only $39, which is a very low risk for your first attempt.
However, Hola Prime Futures is better if you want a more "professional" feel with fewer daily loss traps, as their main evaluation doesn't have a daily loss limit that results in an immediate account closure. If you can afford the higher monthly fee, Hola Prime's end-of-day trailing drawdown is generally friendlier for learners than intraday limits.
Frequently asked questions
Which firm is cheaper to start a $50K account, Hola Prime or Top One?
Top One Futures is significantly cheaper to start because of its "Elite Access" plan, which costs a flat $39 entry fee regardless of account size. In contrast, Hola Prime Futures charges a $159 monthly subscription for a $50K account, which can become expensive if you take several months to pass.
Does Hola Prime or Top One have a stricter consistency rule for the evaluation?
Hola Prime is generally stricter for beginners with a fixed 40% consistency rule on its 1-Step Prime Challenge. Top One Futures varies its rules by plan; while some plans like "Elite Daily" have a 40-45% rule, others like "Ignite" only require a 15% consistency, making it much harder to pass with just one or two lucky trades.
Which firm offers faster payouts, Hola Prime or Top One?
Top One Futures offers faster processing, with an average of less than 12 hours from request to payment. Hola Prime Futures processes payments within one hour of approval, but that approval follows a review period of up to 24 business hours, making the total wait time slightly longer.
Can I use automated bots in Hola Prime or Top One?
Neither firm allows fully automated bots or EAs (Expert Advisors) for beginners. Both Hola Prime and Top One strictly require manual trading. Top One explicitly states that violations will lead to account termination, while Hola Prime prohibits any systematic pattern of HFT or latency exploitation.
