Bybit review

Researched and written by TheGodFunded4 min read

Bybit is one of the largest crypto exchanges in the world. For a trader it is useful for receiving payouts your firm pays in stablecoins (USDT or USDC) and turning them into money. It also has its own card, which we review separately as the Bybit Card.

None of the firms we cover names Bybit as a payout method, but the vast majority offer crypto payouts.

We read Bybit EU's fees and guides, its trading fee structure and 761 of its 7,757 Trustpilot reviews.

The most important warning of 2026

In August, September and October 2026, Bybit's reviews fill up with the same problem: accounts restricted right after receiving or sending small amounts of USDT that its system flags as of "abnormal origin". Since August alone we counted 59 cases: deposits of $25, $115 or $250 locking accounts with thousands inside for weeks, and some end up closed.

For a trader paid in USDT this is key: a payment from your firm may come from a wallet Bybit's system considers risky. Do a small test, do not build up a balance and withdraw as soon as you can.

Who is behind it

  • In Europe, the service is provided by Bybit EU GmbH, based in Vienna and holding a MiCA licence from Austria's Financial Market Authority (FMA). It has its own catalogue and rules.
  • Outside Europe, global Bybit operates. It is not available in the United States.

It is not a bank: what you hold there is not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme.

How you collect a payout with Bybit

  1. Open the account and verify your identity.
  2. In Assets → Deposit, choose the coin and network. Copy the address.
  3. Give that address to your firm on the same network. If it does not match, the money is lost.
  4. When it arrives, sell it for euros.
  5. Withdraw the euros to your bank by SEPA.

In Europe, keep two things in mind:

  • Check in the app whether USDT is available. Under MiCA, several European exchanges no longer allow USDT trading; if so, ask to be paid in USDC.
  • To withdraw euros you must first have deposited euros from your bank, and you can only withdraw to that same account. Make a small deposit when you open the account.

What users say

Bybit scores 2.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot, from 7,757 reviews, and Trustpilot shows a high-risk investment notice. These are reviews of the whole exchange and many come from outside Europe. Our review analysis above breaks it down.

  • "Abnormal origin" restrictions after small deposits or withdrawals.
  • Compliance reviews with no timelines, where nobody asks for documents for weeks.
  • Support: three in four negative reviews complain about it.
  • Those without problems highlight how easy it is and how useful P2P is.

How to use it well

  1. Test with a small amount before your first big payout.
  2. Ask to be paid in USDC if you live in Europe.
  3. Deposit euros once from your bank when you open the account, so you can withdraw later.
  4. Sell and withdraw as soon as it arrives. Do not hold a balance.
  5. Keep the payout receipt and your firm contract in case you are asked about the source.
  6. Do not send from Bybit to unknown third-party services: several restrictions started that way.

Verdict

Bybit is convenient and cheap for receiving stablecoins, and in Europe it holds a MiCA licence. But in 2026 its anti-money-laundering system is blocking accounts over small deposits, and a firm payout can trigger it. Use it only as a pass-through.

Who it is for: traders paid in stablecoins, especially outside Europe, who want to cash out or use P2P.

Who it is not for: anyone wanting to keep money on the exchange and anyone who cannot afford weeks without access to their funds.

Alternatives

  • Kraken: MiCA licence in Ireland and SEPA withdrawal for €1.
  • Revolut: a bank that accepts some crypto deposits.
  • Wise: if your firm pays by dollar transfer.
Review analysis

What people say about Bybit on Trustpilot

We read 761 of its 7757 reviews (reviews of the whole exchange, mainly the most recent 1 to 4 star ones. here we focus on what affects receiving, selling and withdrawing), on 9 October 2026.

2.5 Trustpilot score
2.8 Based on what they say
Features 3.8

Many networks to receive stablecoins, P2P, conversion and bank withdrawal. In Europe Bybit EU operates, with a different catalogue and rules from global Bybit.

Reliability 1.9

Complaints spike in September 2026: accounts restricted right after receiving or sending small amounts of USDT that the system flags as of abnormal origin. Since August alone we counted 59 such cases. Funds stay blocked for weeks, and some accounts end up closed.

See 2 reviews
★★★★★“Within about a minute Bybit flagged the deposit as "Abnormal Asset Origin" and restricted my e[ntire account]”
★★★★★“The withdrawal was rejected as an “abnormal withdrawal”, and my account was placed under Compliance Review.”
Value for money 3.4

Receiving crypto is free. On Bybit EU, converting costs 0.25% for most users from October 2026, and the euro withdrawal fee is shown in the app before you confirm.

Ease of use 3.6

The platform is described as easy, and P2P is widely used in countries where banks are hostile to crypto. In Europe, to withdraw euros you must first have deposited from the same bank account.

See review
★★★★★“P2P trading because I live in a foreign land with a lot of restrictions concerning bank transactions.”
Support 1.8

Three in four negative reviews mention support. On lockouts, nobody asks for documents for weeks and the final answer is usually that the decision will not be reviewed.

See review
★★★★★“Account blocked, $11k frozen, support ignores tickets.”
Transparency 2.4

Bybit EU holds a MiCA licence from Austria and publishes its trading fees. But euro withdrawal fees are only visible in the app, restrictions come without explanation and Trustpilot shows a high-risk investment notice.

  • MiCA licence in Europe (Bybit EU)

By rating

Positive · 4 and 5

Few in our sample: easy platform, useful P2P and fast deposits.

Mixed · 3

Users who eventually recovered their money after a block, and requests for P2P improvements.

Negative · 1 and 2

Almost all from August to October 2026: restrictions after small deposits or withdrawals, blocked funds and support that explains nothing.

How Bybit replies

It replies to almost all, asking for the case number. On blocks, it usually confirms the decision without details.
