Soft4FX review
Soft4FX Forex Simulator is an add-on for MetaTrader 4 and 5 that turns the platform into a simulator: you pick a day in the past and the market replays from there, with your usual charts, templates, indicators and drawing tools. You can pause, speed up, step forward or back candle by candle and trade as if it were live.
We read its whole website: prices, FAQ, refund policy, licence and instrument list. It has no Trustpilot page, so there are no reviews to analyse.
What it offers
- It runs inside MetaTrader, so if you already trade your prop firm on MT4 or MT5, you practise on exactly the same screen.
- Tick data with real spread from Dukascopy, TrueFX and HistData, 10 to 20 years, included in the price.
- About 60 forex pairs, gold, silver, oil, bitcoin, ethereum and 12 indices (CFDs, not futures).
- Several timeframes in sync. On MT5 also several pairs at once; on MT4 only one.
- Seconds, Renko and range charts, as well as the usual ones.
- Automatic management: stop, target, trailing stop, break-even and OCO orders.
- Position sizing by risk, for example 2% of the balance.
- Economic calendar from Forex Factory since 2007.
- Statistics like MetaTrader's, and export to Excel or to an HTML report in MetaTrader format.
It has no prop firm simulator: you have to track the challenge rules yourself.
Requirements
- Windows only. On a Mac you need a virtual machine.
- MetaTrader 5 with Windows 10 or 11, or MetaTrader 4 with Windows 7 or later.
- The licence is tied to your MetaTrader account number, up to 2 accounts at a time, demo or real. If the account expires, you can switch it.
A tip: use a broker demo account for the simulator, not your prop firm account. That way you do not depend on the firm keeping MetaTrader.

Verdict
Soft4FX is the cheapest paid option on this list for serious manual backtesting: a single $109 payment, tick data included and the convenience of practising inside the same platform you trade on. It lacks a prop firm simulator, only runs on Windows and has no public reviews to back up its quality.
Who it is for: forex traders who use MetaTrader on Windows and do not want subscriptions.
Who it is not for: futures traders, Mac users or anyone trading their firm on cTrader, DXtrade or TradingView.
