What you are signing up for
An evaluation is a test where you trade on a demo account. You must reach a profit target, which is a specific amount of money you need to earn, without breaking any risk rules.
- FTMO offers two main paths: a 1-Step (one test) or a 2-Step (two consecutive tests) evaluation. Prices range from €89 for a $10,000 account to €1,080 for a $200,000 account.
- Mubite focuses on crypto and offers three paths: Instant Funding (no test, you get funded immediately for a higher fee), 1-Step, and 2-Step evaluations. Prices start at $65 for a $5,000 account and go up to $4,999 for a $100,000 instant account.
How hard each one is
The biggest challenge is managing drawdown, which is the maximum loss you are allowed to have before the firm closes your account.
- FTMO uses a static drawdown of 10%. This means if you have $100,000, you can never drop below $90,000. They also have a daily drawdown (a loss limit that resets every 24 hours) of 5% based on your equity (the current value of your open and closed positions).
- Mubite has different rules per plan. Their 2-Step plan allows an 8% total drawdown and a 5% daily drawdown. On Instant Funding, they use a Smart Drawdown, where the loss limit "locks" at a certain level once you reach 5% profit.
How long it takes
Beginners often feel rushed, but both firms now offer unlimited time to complete the evaluation.
- FTMO requires a minimum of 4 trading days for their 2-Step evaluation. For the 1-Step, there are 0 minimum days; you can pass as soon as you hit the target.
- Mubite is slower for beginners. Both 1-Step and 2-Step evaluations require at least 10 minimum trading days. A "trading day" only counts if your profit or loss that day is at least 0.25% of the initial balance.
Where beginners fail
Most beginners lose their accounts because of the consistency rule. This rule prevents traders from passing by "gambling" on a single lucky trade.
- FTMO has a 50% consistency rule on its 1-Step accounts. This means no single day can account for more than half of your total profit target. Their 2-Step accounts have no consistency rule, making them more flexible.
- Mubite is stricter. In the funded stage, your best day cannot exceed 25% to 40% of your total profit, depending on the plan. If you exceed it, they don't ban you, but they delay your payout until you trade more to balance the average.
What happens if you make it
Once you pass, you become a "funded trader."
- FTMO gives you a 90% profit split (your share of the gains). You can withdraw your money every 14 days via bank transfer or PayPal. They offer platforms like MetaTrader 4, 5, and TradingView.
- Mubite starts with a 70% to 80% profit split, though you can pay extra ("add-ons") to increase it to 90%. Payouts happen every 14 days via Crypto or transfer. You trade directly on the ByBit broker interface.
If it is your first time
If you are a complete beginner, FTMO is the safer recommendation.
- They offer a Free Trial, which is a 14-day identical simulation of their challenge to practice for free.
- Their 2-Step evaluation has no consistency rules, giving you more freedom to learn from your mistakes without being penalized for one "too good" day.
- They offer more assets (Forex, Gold, Stocks) compared to Mubite’s crypto-only focus.
Mubite is only better if you specifically want to trade Crypto with high leverage (100:1) or if you want to skip the evaluation entirely using their Instant Funding option.
Frequently asked questions
Which firm is cheaper for a small $10,000 account, FTMO or Mubite?
Mubite is cheaper for a 1-Step evaluation, costing $129 (approx. €118), while FTMO's 1-Step for that size costs €79 (approx. $86). However, for a 2-Step evaluation, FTMO costs €89 ($97) while Mubite costs $110. FTMO is generally more affordable for the traditional 2-step entry.
Can I use Expert Advisors (EAs) on both FTMO and Mubite?

Mubite is stricter. On their funded accounts, your best day cannot exceed 25% to 40% of your total profit. FTMO only applies a consistency rule (50%) to its 1-Step evaluation and has no consistency requirements for its popular 2-Step funded accounts.
Which firm offers more trading platforms, FTMO or Mubite?
FTMO offers significantly more variety, including MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, cTrader, DXTrade, and TradingView. Mubite is integrated specifically with the ByBit exchange, meaning you are limited to their specific trading environment and API tools.
