The Trading Pit Updates Its Futures Payout Policy
The Trading Pit has announced an update to its payout policy for Futures Earning Phase accounts. These changes, applicable to futures accounts created on or after March 6, 2026 (inclusive), aim to promote consistent performance, provide predictable withdrawal amounts, and reduce the risk of account breaches. Key Benefits of the Updated Policy: Clear Withdrawal Limits: Traders will now know the exact maximum safe amount to withdraw without risking a breach of the trailing maximum loss rule. Protection Against Automatic Breaches: The policy prevents full profit withdrawals from triggering a breach by maintaining a sufficient capital buffer in the account. Improved Risk Management: Retaining at least 50% of generated profits in the account encourages more careful risk management and longer account survival. Multi-Account Scaling: With up to five allowed accounts and copy trading, traders can target up to $25,000 in first-payout profits across their accounts. Updated Futures Earning Phase Payout Rules: First Payout: Maximum: The lower of $5,000 USD or 50% of your total realized profit. Eligibility: 5 winning trading days (not necessarily consecutive), each with at least $200 profit. Second and Subsequent Payouts: Requirement: Must show profit > $0 since the most recent payout request. Eligibility: 5 winning trading days (not necessarily consecutive), each with at least $200 profit. Maximum per Payout: The lower of $5,000 USD or 50% of profits generated since the last payout. The profit split remains 80% for the trader, and the trailing maximum loss rule continues unchanged, trailing the end-of-day balance until it locks at the original starting balance.

It eliminates interruptions caused by a fixed daily rule, better supporting various trading styles, including scalping, swing trading, and news trading. Traders will gain more control over their risk management, allowing decisions to be based purely on market conditions and personal strategies, rather than an imposed pause. This also moves the trading environment closer to real-market futures trading. While the Daily Pause is being lifted, the Maximum Drawdown rule will continue to apply. This initiative underscores The Trading Pit's ongoing commitment to building a trader-first prop firm, ensuring rules are designed to empower traders.
