Crypto.com Visa review

Researched and written by TheGodFunded4 min read

The Crypto.com card is probably the best-known crypto card in the world. It is a prepaid Visa you top up from the Crypto.com app, with crypto or fiat, and it pays rewards in CRO, its own coin. The key is its tiers: the more you pay or the more CRO you lock, the more rewards and perks you get.

We read its official fee tables for Europe and for Brazil and Latin America, its European tiers page and 873 of its 9,470 Trustpilot reviews.

Who is behind it

Crypto.com is one of the largest crypto platforms in the world. In Europe, the card is issued by Foris MT Limited, a Maltese company authorised by the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) as an electronic money institution. It is one of the cards on this list with the clearest European issuer.

Each region has its own terms: there are separate tables for Europe, the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Brazil and Latin America, and the Gulf. In the US, the flagship card is now a credit card, a different product.

How it works

  • You top up the card from the app, with crypto, your euro balance or a bank card (the latter with a 1% fee).
  • Virtual card instantly and a physical card for an issuance fee.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay.
  • Maximum balance of €25,000 in Europe.
  • Mandatory identity verification.

Tiers in Europe

In 2026 Crypto.com renamed its tiers under its Level Up programme. This is the European table:

Tier Cost CRO reward Free ATM a month
Basic (Midnight) Free 0% €200
Plus (Ruby) €3.99 a month, €39.90 a year or lock €450 in CRO 1.5% €400
Pro (Jade / Indigo) €24.99 a month, €249.90 a year or lock €4,500 in CRO 2.5% €800
Private (Icy / Rose) Lock €45,000 in CRO 3.5% €800
Private (Obsidian) Lock €450,000 in CRO 4.5% €1,000

Source: European tiers page and Crypto.com help center, checked on 9 October 2026.

What matters:

  • The free card gives no rewards in Europe.
  • Plus and Pro tiers have a cap on rewarded spending. Note: its help center says $1,250 and $2,500 a month, and its website $750 and $1,500. They do not match.
  • Locking CRO is risky: if CRO's price drops during the 12 months, you lose money even while earning rewards.

Fees in Europe

Item Cost
Virtual card Free
Physical card €4.99 on Basic; €24.99 on Plus for recent monthly subscribers
Topping up with a bank card 1%
ATM, beyond the free limit 2%
Paying in another currency (Basic) 0.2% within the EU and UK; 2% outside
Paying in another currency (Plus and Pro) 0.2% in the EU; outside, free up to €400 or €800 a month, then 2%
Paying in another currency (Private) Free
Inactivity €6 a month after 12 months without use
Replacement €45.01 to €50
Account closure €50

Source: Crypto.com help center, article updated on 31 July 2026.

Watch the replacement and closure fees: they are among the highest on this list. And the fee for paying outside the EU on mid tiers took effect on 1 October 2026; before that it was free.

In Latin America

For Brazil and some Latin American countries, the card works in dollars: the physical card costs $5.99 on the basic tier, the basic tier charges 2% for paying in another currency and free ATM ranges from $180 to $900 a month. The purchase limit is $4,400 a day.

What users say

Crypto.com scores 1.9 out of 5 on Trustpilot, from 9,470 reviews, and Trustpilot shows a high-risk investment notice. These are reviews of the whole app: 155 of those we read mention the card. Our review analysis above breaks it down.

  • Reward cuts. A user who locked 35,000 in CRO to get cashback says it was later cut and a spending cap added. Others say their tier dropped without a clear explanation.
  • Frozen cards after a suspicious charge or a transfer, for days or weeks.
  • Physical cards that never arrive and replacements that cannot be requested.
  • Slow support with replies that do not solve anything.
  • Long-time customers who use it as their main card and are happy.

Verdict

The Crypto.com card is still one of the most complete in number of countries and in higher-tier perks, with a regulated issuer in Europe. But the free tier no longer gives rewards in Europe, the good ones require paying or locking a lot of money in CRO, and the company has changed its terms several times.

Who it is for: those already using Crypto.com, spending enough for the Plus or Pro subscription to pay off and wanting a card that works in many countries.

Who it is not for: anyone wanting rewards without paying anything, anyone unwilling to risk money in CRO and anyone needing fast support.

Alternatives

  • Bybit Card: in Europe it gives 1% uncapped with no subscription.
  • Nexo Card: no fees and with credit mode.
  • Wirex: free physical card in Europe and no exchange fee.

What people say about Crypto.com Visa on Trustpilot

We read 873 of its 9470 reviews (reviews of the whole crypto.com app, not just the card: the 200 most recent of each 1 to 4 star rating and the 5 star ones among the most recent. 155 mention the card), on 9 October 2026.

1.9 Trustpilot score
2.7 Based on what they say
Features 3.3

Many tiers with perks: rewards in CRO or BTC, lounges, subscription rebates and free ATM. But in 2026 it renamed the tiers and introduced caps on rewarded spending, and some say their tier dropped without a clear explanation.

See review
★★★★★“they have contradictory information on their sites about cards, staked amounts, locked amounts”
Reliability 2.3

Those using it daily without incidents are happy, and many are long-time customers. But cards frozen after a suspicious charge or a transfer, for days or weeks, and physical cards that never arrive come up repeatedly.

See 2 reviews
★★★★★“I use Crypto.com's card as my main one, it gives cashback; their banking and crypto services work fine”
★★★★★“Crypto.com rejected a EUR 1,360 SEPA transfer from my own bank account, locked my account, and froze my card without giving me any clear explanation.”
Value for money 2.4

The free tier gives no rewards in Europe, and the good ones require paying a subscription or locking a lot of money in CRO, its own coin. Those who locked tens of thousands complain that rewards were later cut and capped.

See review
★★★★★“they have you make a huge investment (35K) to get cashback on Visa spendings and then down the road they reduce the cashback and put in a spendingl imit of 3K.”
Ease of use 3.6

The app is liked and the card works everywhere. Drawbacks: verifications failing again and again and card replacements that are hard to request.

See review
★★★★★“I was told that a replacement would cost €50. I have tried several times to request a replacement card, without success.”
Support 1.8

The most repeated complaint: slow chat, replies that do not solve anything and cases dragging on for weeks. The company replies to two in three reviews, almost always with a template.

See review
★★★★★“it says that they reply in a couple minutes, my fastest reply was a day, after which no one ever helped me.”
Transparency 2.6

It publishes very detailed official fee tables by region and names the card issuer in Europe, a regulated entity in Malta. But its figures change often, sometimes with little notice, and the website and help center do not always match.
