Edgewonk: information and detailed review

Edgewonk is a trading journal focused on statistics and discipline: it helps you see which mistakes you repeat, what your ideal exit would be and how your emotions affect your results. It has been on the market for many years and is one of the cheapest in its category.

We read its help center (186 articles), its pricing page and almost all of its Trustpilot reviews (42 of 44).

How it works

1. Import your trades or add them manually.
2. Add entry, exit and management comments, and rate them good, bad or neutral.
3. The Tiltmeter turns those ratings into a discipline meter.
4. Reports show your best hours, days, setups and exits, your streaks and your drawdown.
5. The simulator projects future outcomes from your stats, and the backtester lets you log tests of new strategies.

It has no chart replay or artificial intelligence, and there is no app: it runs in the browser, including on mobile.

Compatible platforms

• Automatic sync: only MetaTrader 4 and 5.
• File upload: cTrader, Match-Trader, Tradovate, Rithmic, NinjaTrader, TopstepX, Quantower, Sierra Chart, ATAS, FTMO history and many more brokers.

If you trade on MetaTrader, everything is automatic. Elsewhere you will need to export and import your trades from time to time.

Its website advertises unlimited prop firm accounts, but its help center describes no feature to track each firm's rules.

Verdict

Edgewonk is the best value option if what you want is serious statistics to find your mistakes, especially if you trade on MetaTrader. Do not look to it for artificial intelligence, chart replay or prop firm-specific features.

Who it is for: MetaTrader traders who want a complete, cheap journal with everything included.

Who it is not for: futures platform traders who want automatic sync, or anyone who prefers paying monthly.
