KAST review

Researched and written by TheGodFunded6 min read

KAST is an app with a Visa card that runs on digital dollars. You deposit USDT or USDC, or money by bank transfer, and see it as a dollar balance you spend with the card at any merchant that accepts Visa. It also gives you dollar and euro accounts to receive transfers, and cashback that is 1.5% on its free plan.

We read its entire help center (304 articles), its terms of use, the 181 Trustpilot reviews you can read without an account and what is said about it on Reddit.

Who is behind it

Its terms are signed by KAST Tech, a company registered in Anjouan, an island in the Comoros known for its undemanding financial licences. Some services are provided by partners, such as the card issuer or the crypto custodians, which its help center describes as regulated entities without naming them; the terms cite Tazapay and BitGo as examples.

What to know from its terms before depositing:

  • The crypto you deposit becomes KAST's. It is literal: the terms say the assets you transfer "are sold to KAST" and held by a custodian "on behalf of KAST (not for the users)". You are left with a dollar balance. There is an optional Self-Custody Mode that holds your balance as USDC in a wallet in your name, only on accounts where it has been enabled.
  • It is not liable for what the custodian does, nor for freezes, conversions or deductions on those funds.
  • It can block or close your account for security or compliance reviews, and does not always say why.
  • Disputes go to arbitration, after trying to settle with its support.

Credit or debit

Its own help center contradicts itself. One article says every KAST card is a credit card, with a credit line secured by your balance, and its terms also call it a credit card. Another article says the money comes straight from your wallet and that "you're always spending your own funds, not credit". In practice, you can only spend what you have deposited.

How it works

  • Verification is mandatory. An official ID from a supported country; if you only hold one from an excluded country, you cannot verify even if you live in a supported one.
  • Virtual card instantly, and a physical one within days. You can hold up to 10 cards.
  • Visa worldwide. Online, in shops, with Apple Pay or Google Pay where available, and at ATMs. It does not work at unattended fuel pumps.
  • No crypto needed. You can receive money by transfer in dollars (ACH, Fedwire, SWIFT) or euros (SEPA) and spend or withdraw without touching crypto.
  • Bank payouts in many local currencies, from Mexican pesos to Egyptian pounds.
  • Yield and credit through savings accounts and crypto products, with their own risk.

Where you can get it

KAST does not publish its country list: you only see it when you sign up, in the drop-down. Its help center says using a VPN to bypass the restriction can get your account closed. Apple Pay depends on your registered country of residence; the list it publishes includes Spain, almost all of Europe, much of Latin America and the Middle East.

Plans

Plan Annual fee Card Cashback
Standard Free Plastic Visa Platinum 1.5% up to $2,000 a month

Private $10,000 Gold-plated Visa Infinite 3% up to $40,000 a month, plus 2% in points

Paid plans are billed a year in advance; there is no monthly option. Cashback is released after a waiting period, and clawed back if you return the purchase. If you had already spent it, it is taken from your balance. ATM withdrawals, transfers and fees do not earn cashback.

At ATMs, the usual limit is $250 per withdrawal and $750 a day. It sets no maximum for purchases, although it may review large transactions.

If you pay in euros, the exchange fee eats much of the cashback. A European user on Reddit with the Premium plan puts it this way: with cashback and points, you roughly break even. KAST itself estimates that, on the free plan, the net benefit reaches 1% at most.

For receiving your payouts

If your firm pays you in USDT or USDC, you can use your KAST deposit address, on the same network the firm uses. If it pays by bank transfer, you can give it your dollar or euro account. Three things to bear in mind:

  • Large transfers are reviewed. KAST may ask for documents about the source of funds, the purpose of the payment or who sent it. Several reviews describe accounts blocked right after receiving money from a broker or a third party.
  • Check the network before sending crypto. If it does not match, the money may be lost.
  • Do not build up a balance. Remember the crypto you deposit belongs to KAST and your account can be blocked while they review you.

What users say

It scores 2.5 out of 5 on Trustpilot, from 219 reviews, and Trustpilot shows a high-risk investment notice on its page. Our review analysis above breaks it down.

What comes up most:

  • When it works, people like it. The app is clean, the card works when travelling and cashback is paid in real dollars.
  • Freezes are the main complaint. Accounts "under review" with money inside, with no timeline or explanation, sometimes after a small transfer.
  • Endless verifications. Rejected documents, loops in the app and requests to prove income from users who had been customers for years.
  • Referral rewards withheld.
  • Support rarely responds and does not explain why an account is blocked.

How to use it well

  1. Start with the free plan and the virtual card. Do not pay for a $1,000 plan until you have tested it for months.
  2. Try a small withdrawal before depositing large amounts.
  3. Keep proof of every incoming payment, especially from your prop firm.
  4. Turn on Self-Custody Mode, if available to you, so your balance sits in your name on the blockchain.
  5. Pay in the local currency when the terminal lets you choose, as its help center recommends.
  6. Keep spare balance so you do not pile up declined payment fees.
  7. Do not use it as a savings account.

Alternatives

  • RedotPay: no fee, with a $10 virtual card, but it is not a bank either and also freezes accounts.
  • Crypto.com Visa: the best-known crypto card.
  • Wise or Revolut: if your firm pays you by transfer and you want a more closely supervised provider.

Verdict

KAST has an attractive product: a Visa card with no fee, 1.5% cashback paid in dollars, dollar and euro accounts to receive transfers and an app people like. For spending your payout in dollars, on paper it is one of the best.

But the company is based in the Comoros, its terms say the crypto you deposit becomes its own, and the reviews describe too many accounts blocked without explanation. Use it only for everyday spending and with a small balance.

Who it is for: traders paid in USDT or USDC who mostly spend in dollars and want cashback without paying a fee.

Who it is not for: anyone wanting to keep their profits there, anyone who needs their money available at all times, and anyone who prefers a provider with clear supervision.

Review analysis

What people say about KAST on Trustpilot

We read 181 of its 219 reviews (every 1 to 4 star review and the 5 star ones among the 200 most recent), on 8 October 2026.

2.5 Trustpilot score
2.9 Based on what they say
Features 4.0

Users like having dollar and euro accounts to receive transfers, cashback paid in dollars and not needing crypto to use it. For those paying in euros, the exchange fee eats much of the cashback.

See review
★★★★★“You don't even need to own crypto, you send in your USD, and spend with USD-denominated card, or withdraw to a local bank”
Reliability 2.2

Those without incidents say it works worldwide, including with Apple Pay. But the dominant complaint is another one: accounts frozen 'for security review' with money inside, sometimes after a small transfer or after receiving money from a broker, and SEPA transfers stuck for days.

See 2 reviews
★★★★★“Been a daily user since September 2024. I travel a lot for work, and KAST has worked everywhere in the world, both digitally with Apple Pay and the physical card.”
★★★★★“they immediately blocked my account after receiving money from my stock broker and said they don't know how long it will take to unblock.”
Value for money 3.3

No fee on the basic plan and 1.5% cashback make it worthwhile for paying in dollars. Complaints are about the declined payment fee, which pushes balances negative, the $40 physical card shipping and the euro exchange fee.

See review
★★★★★“Transactions fail far too often, and what makes the situation even worse is that I am still charged a fee when a payment fails.”
Ease of use 3.8

The app is described as clean and easy, and initial verification can be done the same day. The problem comes later: verifications that loop, documents rejected without explanation and requests to prove income to keep using the account.

See review
★★★★★“I upload my passport, the process finishes, and then the app simply asks me to verify again.”
Support 2.0

Six in ten negative reviews mention support: unanswered chats, replies that do not explain why an account is blocked and open-ended timelines. Several positive ones say the opposite, and in some cases the issue was solved after the review.

See 2 reviews
★★★★★“Customer service here is as useful as a rock.”
★★★★★“Once support fixed the email and re-sent the link, I verified in 5 minutes and the held 981 USD landed one minute later.”
Transparency 2.4

It replies to most reviews, mainly asking for details through Trustpilot or saying the case is already resolved. It does not explain why it blocks accounts. Its terms, signed by a company from Anjouan (Comoros), say the crypto you deposit becomes KAST's, something few users know.

By rating

Positive · 4 and 5

Eight in ten come from accounts with one or two reviews. They talk about a nice app, using it while travelling and the cashback; some mention designer cards like the Pudgy Penguins one.

Mixed · 3

Very few, all with the same arc: it worked well until the first freeze or held transfer, and was solved after a lot of chasing.

Negative · 1 and 2

Six in ten reviews are 1 star, and almost eight in ten of those are from 2026. Account freezes, endless verifications, held transfers, frozen referral rewards and a $4,944 chargeback case the user says was allowed to lapse.

How KAST replies

It replied to 152 of the 181 reviews. Almost always with an apology and a request for details through Trustpilot; in some it confirms the case is already resolved. It rarely explains the reason for a block.

To a blocked account
“We’ve requested some additional information through Trustpilot so we can securely identify the account”
To a declined payment complaint
“A declined transaction fee may apply when a card transaction is declined due to insufficient card balance.”
After unblocking an account
“Our team has provided us with an update confirming that your transaction has been approved and your account has been reactivated.”
